Interesting that Peters hitting better coincided with him moving to the 8 spot. You have to wonder if pitchers now pitch him differently with an automatic out right behind him.

Well OAA doesn't consider throws. But their arm metric has him in 91st percentile (and yes it does consider whether runners hold)

He looks awkward out there at times, like he hasn't played outfield that much. Kinda shows with the misplayed hops and not getting in good positions to throw.

Especially with a fast runner like Peters at first. The ideal guys to do it with.

Maybe Melton's pitch count had something to do with not doing it. He's at a career high for 3 innings and you want to get into the Tigers BP asap. If he gets throw out on a swing and miss especially on a bad pitch you're giving Melton a free out and a chance to get out of the inning on the next pitch. Maybe take that 3-1 pitch and have him going on the 3-2.
