They scored 7 and 5 runs in the first two games against the Mets

I'll give you the first game but that 5 runs was nothing special in game 2. Needed a few big hits there to have a chance in that game.

This is an important series. If the Guardians go on a big run, which isn't impossible given they have the easiest remaining schedule, Texas is the biggest competition for the final wild card spot.

  • I have been just trying to enjoy this improbable season, but I am getting a little anxious to step a boot on the divisions neck.

Getz’s disastrous trade deadline continues.

I believe that we need to play with more sense of urgency every game left. Tonight no way you leave Urquiza there , after we get 2 runs and get back in the game. Will does not manage with a sense of urgency IMO. It doesn’t help that Getz did not provide the extra pitching that we needed at the trade deadline.

I agree but we have nobody else to pitch. Urquidy needed to eat some innings tonight and failed. Having only 3 reliable starting pitchers is not sustainable and it puts additional strain on them for each start. The margin of error is razor thin when Kay, Burke and Castillo start because winning games with starting pitchering alleviates stress on bullpen games. Its a really horrible model that needs to be fixed if theyre gonna create any distance and ever win 5 in a row.

And yes the offense waking up would certainly help too.

So has Brazoban been pitching injured this whole time?

Looked like his back locked up?

They would score 810 runs in a season if they averaged 5 per game. That would have been 3rd in baseball last season. 5 is plenty. The pitching needs to not suck so bad.

He is an old man after all

What the f*** was that line drive? It was like a slider.

He throws every sinker right into the barrel of the righty. He’s a total bust

It definitely had some spin on it.

Brazoban cannot go an outing without giving up a run

Vargas looked hurt there.

Vargas keeps looking like he's getting hurt trying to tag people at 3rd.

Looked like it was knuckling then as soon as it hit the grass it took off.

Ground ball from Brozoban is a good sign.

Hope that Brezoban is not a Seranthony clone, that only pitches well in low leverage situations.

I think Vargas has some of that Alexei in him.

Apparently jammed his wrist a bit on the tag.

Well he’s not going to pitch in high leverage spots now

Spoiler alert: I was wrong.

Sometimes you need to pick up your pitching. Each game is different. If each game the pitching gave up four or less runs, stats stats yada yada top pitching team of all time or something. Sox had chances to put up big runs in that game and just didn't do it. I get the pitching has been a problem lately, but it's not like the offense has been world beating either.

Yup, struck out 10 against the Nationals. Prior few starts weren't good though.

I put on Angels game. Is Vargas ok?
