This might sound like sacrilege but I always felt 162 games is way too many. When starting players get tired, it leads bench players getting more playing = lower quality of baseball. Makes you think how impressive that record Cal Ripken Jr holds, it'll never be broken.

I actually think having as many games as baseball does turns off a lot of casual fans. So many times I've heard casuals or non baseball fans think that following for 162 is basically impossible. It also takes away the importance of individual games. Lose on a walk off? Go get 'em tomorrow. You gotta wait a week for that in the NFL or college football.

This is an important series. If the Guardians go on a big run, which isn't impossible given they have the easiest remaining schedule, Texas is the biggest competition for the final wild card spot.

  • I have been just trying to enjoy this improbable season, but I am getting a little anxious to step a boot on the divisions neck.

As long as the Guardians don't sweep and we can take one game I will be semi okay, we need the damn day off and we seem to be playing better on the road for whatever reason

Crazy how much he’s opening up on his swing

Have a good one, boys. I’m out, too.

Chase and Colson not doing s%*# with the bases loaded seemed to right the ship for Rocker.

Doomers must be eatin' today.

Offense has been kinda ass for awhile now, though.

I decided to check out the White Sox subreddit. People that are critical about the team over there get attacked by a swath of posters calling them "doomers" 😂

Pitching has been really damn good of late

The starters? Kay and Fedde have, Burke has been meh lately, Urquidy and Castillo had one good start each.

Keeping them in games, I should say

It's games like tonight and the middle game against the Mets that are rough. Just blow up the bullpen and make the offense have to fight back from 5 down by the 5th.

I can’t express enough how this team should be running away with the division with how everyone else has played.

Scoreboard watching and hoping a crap ass team beats one of the other AL central teams so they can keep distance in the standings is exhausting….

Sam needs a day off. I'm guessing it'll be on Wednesday.

LOL. NO!!! He must start every game!!! How will he ever learn how to hit when nothing's working?!?

That would make sense but no one ever thought this would be a team in first place for so long.

Exactly, that's what makes football so important, one game a week so the victory or defeat is just that much more important, happens in soccer too. Now I have no idea what would be the best solution, how many games a season but 162 is just too many. Maybe a maximum of 5 a week? Players get more rest, so they're fresher in the postseason, arms aren't as tired, fans don't need to watch baseball everyday, might save some marriages too lol

Fantasy football is a lot easier to do than baseball as well

I believe that we need to play with more sense of urgency every game left. Tonight no way you leave Urquiza there , after we get 2 runs and get back in the game. Will does not manage with a sense of urgency IMO. It doesn’t help that Getz did not provide the extra pitching that we needed at the trade deadline.

Yup, it's what makes fantasy football so appealing. You basically have one chance to set your lineup correctly. You can set your lineup everyday in most fantasy baseball leagues. And even if you do weekly lineups, players play 6 or 7 games a week, so it's not as consequential.

Ground ball from Brozoban is a good sign.

Offense basically lifeless since the Tigers and to a lesser extent Cubs series. Just can't get that big hit or string together a crooked number in an inning.

I get why he left Urquidy out there, the bullpen is gassed, you need our starters to go deeper into games or they'll be dead tired come playoffs...again, too many games.

I'm so tired of watching tv shows. We've watched the good ones. My wife vegges out to Dawson's Creek or whatnot. I hate that stuff. I still feel that following baseball like this is kind of unsocial on a nightly basis.

Gotta make the postseason first

They scored 7 and 5 runs in the first two games against the Mets

Great throw by romo!!!!

Not likely to go on a run and win the Division with this starting pitching. Urquidy and Castillo . Oh yea bring up Bonemer.
