Kolson about 19 more to set record. They keep trying to reference players with high strikeouts but those players are doing more in other areas. Colson with K's with running into a homer every now and then. Dunn was at least getting on base by walking. Colson can't even sniff 100 bb in a season .

Colson actually did take a couple of walks today not chasing out of the zone. I hope he keeps that up and makes them come to him. But yeah that's a bad quote for sure.

That's a terrible quote in the OP. Not surprising though based on what he's shown so far this year from his attitude and approach at the plate.

it's not unusual and no real solution is power hitting teams seem to shut down at once.

Unbelievable quote but that’s why we are where we are right now and the guys that I blame are the hitting coach and the manager.

Colson did lay off that last inning and got that 4th pitch, but he missed it and then basically popped up.

Yeah, this is really bad. In the majors you have to change the way you play. You have to be able to adjust otherwise you are just going to be eaten alive. Colson’s quotes here are music to opposing pitchers’ ears.

Have noticed this as well. Between this and Colson not being told to use the whole field, the hitting coaches are letting these guys down

These guys are toast. I'll be shocked if we make the playoffs. Much less win the division

Wasn't he the #1 hitter in the majors against 95+ velo the first 2-3 months???

You can't do that with a hitch in your swing...just means you're constantly in between and that's also impacting your swing path to the ball mechanically.

The arms are definitely more extended out over the plate and lower than the LH side pic...to cover low and away. The problem is also getting tied up inside, same with Kolson. Also, even more exaggerated bat wrap.

Calling Shohei again to fix him...?

I am not bothered by strikeouts like I usss to be. Would rather have someone strike out then ground out because a ground out does more damage. He needs to walk more. I wish he were like Adam Dunn in this regards. Dunn stuck out a lot but he also had one of the best eyes I've ever seen at the plate.
