Maybe get the stories straight about whether someone actually has a law degree versus merely graduating from a law school first...

It's fine, West Eddy thinks he's cooking with gas but the Luis Castillo imaging news just makes things look even worse...if that was even possible.

(Unless they had already insured the Castillo deal and are getting 55/60% of his contract back for him to sit out 2027?

Except they won't collect if no games are being played.)

What does being supposedly "right" get you at SoxTalk?

The right for 40% of your ticket purchases to go towards a compromised Luis Castillo and Andrew "Automatic High FB K/Negative bWAR" Benintendi???

What about your prediction that the Padres were dooming themselves and the rest of baseball two year ago???

Doesn't seem to have impacted the most ruthlessly efficient mid and small market teams...just made them even more competitive.

MIL signed Chourio Pratt and Lara early and are closing in on a deal with INF Jesus Made (#1 prospect in all of milb). Everyone thought they were crazy when the second and third deals were announced...

This is like a computer spitting out nonsense messages as it melts down. We shouldn't mess up the Bonemer thread with your pouting. Create one called "Caulfield enraged at WestEddy for being right" and we'll pick this up there when you calm down.

I'm as calm as Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell right now.

White Sox will win 98 games next year for sure!!!

That's part of the "British Chef, American Wife" joke?

That's 100% impossible.

You have to enroll in a Chinese law school at age 18/19 and go through that program for 3-4 full years before taking the Chinese version of the bar exam upon graduation.

You just don't show up and take it in Chinese language as a foreigner lol.

Even if you spend two years as a guest under a work or student visa at a Chinese law firm in Beijing.

She probably can't tell the difference between Ni Hao Ma, Ma Ni Hao, and Hao Ni Ma.

"Mark Jia, a Georgetown Law professor who specializes in China, told independent outlet Popular Information that he was unaware of anyone like Zacharia who would have been licensed to practice law in China."

If you graduate from Law School you do have a law degree. But to be a practicing attorney you need to pass the bar. Sorry, I couldn't let that one pass.

Right next to WestEddy makes up reasons to defend Jerry, again.

But passing or mispresenting yourself as a licensed attorney in the state of CA is also a crime...what is a law degree without passing the bar? Useless. Ask Kim Kardashian.

The irony is that she was "legal counsel" for a Rick Grenell funded non profit in CA...the same Rick Grenell who Trump's former attorney Alina Habba's new billionaire husband just today accused of embezzling $5-6 million in a business deal/side political donation gone bad.

I’m not sure which is more ridiculous — defending Jerry or showing off about making three different record predictions. Both are stupid as f***.

White Sox will be great next year.

White Sox will be .500ish next year.

White Sox will suck next year

Genius.

One will turn out to be correct.

Nostradamus-like.

has the potential to be the best position player out of the state of michigan in 30 some years. not easy up there with such a short season and a lot of kids focused on other sports.

Jeter in 93?

Chris Getz developed the system into back to back playoff appearances. What a failure. 2026 is just a continuation of that string of failure. LOL.

Once Jerry Reinsdorf realized that the winning might start making him money, which he hates because he's so cheap, he had Getz promoted out of his role that was the true power center of the organization, so they started losing again. But then JR somehow thought that promoting Getz to GM would fulfil his goal of always finishing in 2nd place, so that he would leave billions on the table because he's so cheap, and Getz finished .... where?

2nd place!!! What a victory of failure!!!

I getz I was too busy noticing the three 100 loss seasons to remember back to back playoff.

The discussion is developing young players. I posted four players that arguably were rushed through the process. Do you still believe he had nothing to do with rushing them and we shouldn't be concerned about future high drafts picks?

Director of Minor League Development is such a powerful position ("true power center of the organization") that Paul Janish is there now.

Maybe 3-5% of all Sox fans have a bit of a clue who he even is...

Ofc Crochet Madrigal and Vaughn/Sheets were rushed or mismanaged or simply put in the wrong positions on the field.

Crochet eventually rebounded on his own.

Do did Jake Burger.

@caulfield12 sure has a problem with authority, doesn’t he?

I wonder if he even obeys his paramount leader?

Chris Getz was the Director of Player Development. JR was the Chairman. I believe they both are still with the organization.

Now do you share some concerns?

And I am pretty sure that Getz also had Vaughn on the major league roster as GM and traded him too.

Beckham was out of the org by the time Getz got here. Fulmer was pitching in the bigs before Getz's time. Colas was acquired after Getz's time as director of development. So, no. I don't believe he had anything to do with rushing those guys.

It's kind of known that the White Sox would draft college players who were mostly "developed" in college and could shoot through the system. No, I don't think the director of development was making the decision to promote players prematurely, and then to allow them to languish in the bigs without proper support.

The main evidence we have that Getz wanted to do things differently is that once he became GM, he started making wholesale changes to development that resulted in tangible success. I can't see how the way Bill Veeck handled a prospect's timeline in the 1970s has any bearing on how the organization is run today.

And Vaughn is doing better with a new organization

So did Sheets in SD.

Burger has basically been about the same.

Romy Gonzalez before he got hurt in Boston.

Alex Call has gone on to have a solid/workman-like career.

McCarthy has had 2 of 3 really good seasons...Mena and Dominic Fletcher haven't been heard from since. Was that Barfield or Getz though?

Bigger/long term picture, Marcus Semien and Tatis went on to become MVP candidates with other teams.

Otoh Vargas is the closest since Quentin in 2008 to doing the same (MVP candidate) from outside the organization. Turned out not to be sustainable due to injuries and just being too hard on himself...didn't have e the same psychological coping mechanisms as Konerko.
