Let's look at the bright side - the Sox are going to have an absolute STAR in Caleb Bonemer

Hey, he got his own movie with Reading Rainbow's Levar Burton.

Parts were filmed at the old Clinton IA minor league ball park.

Never forget…

I'm glad Getz kept Bonemer and didn't move him this past deadline. Really hopeful this kid can find a home and stick in LF. Would be HUGE to add a bat of his potential to the lineup.

Yeah they've gotten very left-handed (never thought I would every see/say this) and need to balance it the other way a bit

Are you sure? 2027 could be the last year of Murakami. A large number of people think Colson Montgomery is a bust and B Mont belongs in the minors. The upcoming prospects with star appeal Bonemer and Roch are right-handed.

And Peters (S) is very uncertain to hold up as well...nobody would be surprised by a falloff there.

They probably also pass on overpaying Grichuk based on 2026, who balanced the lineup against lhp.

It's been the same institutional mess for 50+ years. After decades of watching front offices, coaches, and players come and go some fans don't believe things change with a new set of names.

The whole fans thinking players are rushed is just pure speculation based on how players perform. Perform poorly you were rushed , perform good you weren't.

Some may argue that their minor league performance didnt rate a call up which is pretty much the only time it has merit . Some players just peak against lesser pitching and can never hit MLB pitching. Be it temperament, approach or physical skills , some just can't hack it .

Development is just a fancy way of looking for some way to minimize flaws and maximize skills , but being consistently good over a long period of time just isn't easy with all the adjustments players have to make, getting stronger, increasing bat speed, increasing velocity / spin rate, improving control and command , changing mechanics, changing approach, learning the pitchers or hitters and just your aptitude and knowledge of all phases of the game.
