He's such an impediment to whoever he has worked with on a daily basis. Not trying to flame but what's wrong with Stone? He's a legend in Chicago. He went 15-12 for the Sox during the glorious season of 1977. He worked with Harry. He has a good voice. He's not a screamer. He explains stuff well. I'm a little surprised you dislike his broadcasting. Sox are better organization than to have somebody like Schiff screaming stuff that he obviously hoped would stick. Sox need a pro and not somebody who talks with an announcer's voice cadence. At least Schiff didn't do that. Stone doesn't do that.

7 hours ago7 hr https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/joe-buck-and-troy-aikman-could-be-headed-for-a-split-why-that-matters-more-than-you-think-152044951.htmlSportscasters' voices imprint on our minds and hearts, particularly if we start listening to them young. For me, legendary Braves broadcasters Skip Caray and Ernie Johnson Sr. were the soundtrack of my childhood. For you, maybe it was Vin Scully, or Harry Caray, or Jack Buck, or Howard Cosell, or any of a dozen other bourbon-and-cigarette-soaked voices that brought games to life. We form a bond with these voices, voices that are with us for decades. We hear them sitting alongside our parents, we hear them when we're out on our own, we introduce them to our children. No matter what else is going on in life, you can always count on the voice of Al Michaels or Jim Nantz coming around again, the way we used to count on, say, John Madden and Keith Jackson. I think he genuinely wanted to connect with the fans and be apart of the Chicago White Sox. He just never really seemed to connect well with the team or even the city. Jon also didn't do himself any favors when he made Chicago media enemies at the beginning of his tenure.
5 hours ago5 hr Showed up as a moron schmo who I finally got used to now that he is gone. Spare me the national search bs. I don't want someone who does not know the Sox.
5 hours ago5 hr Randazzo would be excellent.I wish Stone would spend more time using his area of expertise: explaining baseball aspects, both good and bad, for the Sox and the opponent. And spend less time being a house-horse. It's just patronizing really.

1 hour ago1 hr not everyone can do baseballSince I've had to watch Sox baseball on MLB, I've rarely watched the Sox broadcast. It always seemed the opposing broadcasts did their homework. I learned more about the team that way.So I don't really care who replaces him.
