Debate over Punk and Metal. The World and society alone are full of hate, corruption and casualties of people. I have argued with one of my friends over this topic, and I'd like to hear www.soxtalk.com's voice on the issue.

alternative, punk, and metal for me.

I coudn't vote.

I split my time between current rock (alternative/punk/emo type stuff) and classic rock (beatles, petty, who, stones).

I have a split for everything. I love rap (1st music I ever listened to.) I love metal (Metallica, System of a down, Korn, Slipknot etc.. etc..) and alittle alternative, Punk, emo, and R+B. So I can't decide..

I like a few of those.

But rap get's my vote.

Metal takes the lead! I'm sure it'll really last...

I say Metal will top the charts...I really can't stand Punk/Emo/Ska...

a vote for punk/ska/emo from me is for the first 2 forget the third its not even a type on its really more of a genre

I think I listen to almost all of them on there...including country. But only good country...Garth Brooks, some Toby Keith, that kind of stuff.

Alabama, Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels Band, Montgomery Gentry, June Carter Cash, Garth Brooks, Johnny Horton, Anthony Smith, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Dixie Chicks, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, the Rascal Flats, Diamond Rio, Terri Clark, Trace Adkins, Allison Krauss & Union Station, Reba McEntyre, Josh Turner....on and on.

Classic Rock.

Classic rock for me as well!

 

I like Classic Rock, Metal and just about any other music. Those are my 2 favorite picks though. I will listen to anything from Metallica to Sinatra.

I would include Waylon Jennings, some of Willie Nelson's stuff, Randy Travis and George Strait.

I like everything and anything my favorite is probably Classic Rock

My favorite genres:

 

Punk ( including SOME emo like Face To Face, Hey Mercedes )

Metal ( including SOME glam like Butch Walker, Glitterati, Star Spangles )

SOME classic rock ( such as Thin Lizzy, UFO, Boston )

SOME rap ( such as De La Soul, Run DMC, some Outkast )

 

My least favorite genres:

Most rap

Country ( except for Johnny Cash )

The Beatles are my favorite group, but I'd have to vote for Jazz (including Soul Jazz, Funk Jazz, Rock Jazz, Latin Jazz, Traditional, etc. Mostly late sixties/early seventies). People who like classic rock would thoroughly enjoy the work of guys like Dennis Coffey and Jimmy Caravan. The former did a cover of "Whole Lotta Love" with guitar riffs that are just devastating. Mark The 45 King sampled the drum breakdown on that one, which of course is just flawless. And Beatles covers? There are so many!

 

My second favorite form of music would have to be Reggae (Strictly instrumentals, including Soul Reggae, Dub Reggae, Roots Reggae, etc. Mostly late sixties to mid seventies).

 

But I can't vote for either one
