June 13, 200421 yr Hey thanks knightni, Im also a big Fighting Irish fan!! hopefully they can bounce back after a tough season and losing Julious Jones. I think Brady Quinn can be a decent quarterback this year if he could get some time in the pocket this year.

June 13, 200421 yr One thing that really registered with me was the post game interview with Shingo when he told reporters that "in Japan, this is the standard". I'm glad to see that he's bringing his own high standards here to Chicago.

But let's leave that to Kenny and just enjoy this team! Man, I'm in the same shoes. I'm really not to fond of Cliff Politte being thrust into the RH setup role. He's almost as scary to watch as Koch and will not do the trick if we plan on going anywhere in the playoffs.

June 13, 200421 yr Yes, a 1-2-3 ninth was something to see. But what was even better was having a feeling of confidence when the inning started. It sure wasn't the familiar dread I felt when it was Billy Koch.

June 13, 200421 yr My wife and I were there yesterday, it was great to see 3 hitters on the ninth getting fooled big time with Shingo's pitches. Everybody was standing up and supporting Takatsu at the game. Shingo is definitely our closer.

Forget about that outing where he got roughed up. He has been stellar out of the bullpen. Got us out of some tough jams if I recall. He has been solid.

June 14, 200421 yr Shingo should of been closer the entire year... Shingo is awsome.... Unfortunately he was sketchy during Spring Training and for the first week of the seasons, and rightfully so they were careful with him. He's really come into his own now, and it's very very nice to see. Although Ozzie won't guarantee anyone the closers spot, I think we will see Shingo somehow being his "gut feeling" more often than not.
