December 21, 200421 yr He got a nice contract from Anaheim. Foxsports.com The Angels and Orlando Cabrera have agreed to a four-year, $32 million contract, TSN's Ken Rosenthal reports.
December 21, 200421 yr Author thats damn near what renteria got right. What did he get 4 years 40 million? I think Renteria got 4 years 36 mil.
December 21, 200421 yr Author And now they're gonna let that pesky little b**** David Exstein go as a result of the signing.
December 21, 200421 yr Author The White Sox may be interested in David Eckstein. Rotoworld.com Angels non-tendered shortstop David Eckstein. Eckstein figures to land on his feet after being ousted by the Angels. St. Louis makes a great deal of sense here. The White Sox might also want to consider him as a replacement for Willie Harris.
December 21, 200421 yr The White Sox may be interested in David Eckstein. I dont really want eckstein his arm is s***. By the way, Renteria's contract IS 4 years 40 million not 36 million
December 21, 200421 yr I dont really want eckstein his arm is s***. By the way, Renteria's contract IS 4 years 40 million not 36 million He would play second and his arm would be perfectly fine there.

December 21, 200421 yr He would play second and his arm would be perfectly fine there. Oh yeah, he would be replacing harris. Eckstein would be a step up from Harris. Alright im starting to think its a good idea now.
December 21, 200421 yr Can we change the headline so it doesnt look like he signed with the Sox? I thought that's what it meant when I first clicked on it....thankfully they didnt.
December 21, 200421 yr what would make the eikstein signing even better is it could bring rowand down in the order like either 3rd or 5th...
December 21, 200421 yr Eckstein is a GRINDER ! oh s*** I said that too loud. I hope KW doesn't read these boards.
December 21, 200421 yr Author Can we change the headline so it doesnt look like he signed with the Sox? I thought that's what it meant when I first clicked on it....thankfully they didnt. I worded it like that on purpose, it's funny. Read the topic description, and you won't be confused anymore.
December 21, 200421 yr what would make the eikstein signing even better is it could bring rowand down in the order like either 3rd or 5th... I agree. I want Rowand batting #3 especially while Frank is out. Rowand needs to be at a spot in the order where he can drive in more runs. He is a born #3 hitter in my opinion.
December 21, 200421 yr Eckstein wont be a bad idea. He was a pesky hitter, we need somebody like him on the lineup.
December 21, 200421 yr If Eckstein came cheap, I'd definitely love a platoon of him and Harris at second base. Both would be pretty tough outs at the bottom of the order, and while Eck doesn't hit lefties particularly well (at least he hits them better than Harris does, .340 OBP last year vs. southpaws), he plays the game the right way, a grinder, if you will. I think Guillen would love him on the Sox.
December 21, 200421 yr God I'll take Esk. Good OBP, solid leadoff hitter, then we could put SPod in the 2 spot. He can hit lefties and righties, steal bases, fields solid, can flat out make contact, love his walk/k ratio. Yea... I think he's duable.
December 21, 200421 yr wow, I am shocked by the contract... That seems like a lot of money for a guy who people were saying gave up in Montreal... I know he kicked ass for the Red Sox... but this seems like an awful lot for him
December 21, 200421 yr Eckstein is better than Harris in so many ways. the dude has one more World Series ring than anybody on the White Sox.
December 21, 200421 yr I read on rotoworld that The Angels didn't like any of the starting pitchers left on the left on the market so they gave the mney to Cabrera? Does that mean they have NO interest in Odalis and who else was looking at him?

Does that mean they have NO interest in Odalis and who else was looking at him? Washburn was tendered a contract, so I'm thinking that's a very good sign they won't go after Odalis or any other starting pitcher on the market.

Which really leaves 4 main teams out there still going hard for starting pitching. The Mariners, the Dodgers, the Nationals and the White Sox.
