Buehrle doesn't deserve an A.

 

Buehrle has pitched 2 of the best starts in the AL all season - opening day against Cleveland and the 1 hour race against Seattle. Those 2 have to count for something.

 

And his loss to Minnesota happened as much because of an error by Dye as anything Buehrle did.

Agreed. Based on numbers on paper , he would get a D- F. He definately took one for the team that day.

I dont think Buehrle deserves an A either.. he has had some good starts but the ERA is still 4, and comeback wins have helped.. Thats why I thought my B+ for him was fair

He also gave up 7 runs to a mediocre Oakland team, and 3 homers to a horrible Royals team. With the expectations of MB being a Cy Young contender every years, I don't see how anyone could grade him higher than a C.

the "error" (It wasnt really an error but Joe was faulted by most) didnt cause Buehrle to get down 3-1 to Hunter and throw a fastball down the middle resulting in the 3 Run HR..

i still think contreras has been our 2nd most important pitcher this year.....i expected el duque to be alright but there was that chance that contreras would put up a 6 era ...... so far so good though and hes shown flashes of being a dominant pitcher
