Hats off to Joe Morgan

Featured Replies

I want to personally take my hat off to Joe Morgan,

prognosticator of prognosticator, who said kicking off

the season that he felt that Detroit and Cleveland had

the talent to make it a tough three-way race with

Minnesota all season.

Sure enough, Cleveland proved tonight that they

definitely belong in the picture. They hung right with

the twins and then beat them in the ninth.

Mr. Morgan didn't go as far to mention what place the

three teams would be fighting it out for, but because

he was so prescient I'm going to go ahead and just

assume he meant second place.

Of course he didn't bother mentioning the White Sox in

that particular broadcast, despite the fact that very

team was facing Minnesota that very night....although

I'm sure that was just a mental slip. Lord knows he

had too much to think about that night, such as why

Craig Biggio or any other second baseman doesn't

belong in the hall of fame, and what the Giants and

Padres were up to while he was being bothered to be in

the midwest for a couple of hours.

Anyway, kudos to Joe for the sharp analysis. Look for

this race to heat up as the season moves along!

Can we seriously stop talking about ESPN! PLEASE! s*** I dont care if we never get mentioned on ESPN as long as we keep winning.

Same guy who said the Athletics lost in the playoffs because they didn't bunt enough.

I can stand Jon Miller, but Morgan -- yuck. IMHO, of course.

I think Jon Miller is a great tv commentator.

Joe Morgan should die of ghonnerea and rot in hell

Wait there are two teams in Chicago?

Harsh words.

I think the stinging sarcasm was lost on many of the readers Hideaway.

I appreciated it though

if you assholes would actually pay attention and quit criticizing EVERYONE who either 1.) critcizes the white sox or 2.) fails to mention the white sox, then you would know that joe morgan has gone on record a few times since saying he didnt think the white sox would be a factor, but after seeing them he thinks tehy are for real noting how they play the game the right way and are playing with great defense

Sarcasm is a beautiful thing... too bad not enough people can realize when someone is being sarcastic.

I agree. I appreciate a well written piece of journalism. It's sure not the usual "f*** everybody who disses the Sox" stuff.

thanks for the kudos guys :D

I'm really not all that bothered by the (lack of) national attention to be truthful....the more this team flies under the radar the better it seems to do....

I'm with you. I got a good laugh out of it.

All this lack of coverage makes me wonder what will happen to this team once the media shows up. I know we have mostly veterans, but I'm still curious.

Maybe Ozzie can go on another tirade to take the focus and stress off of the players and back on him...........nah, that might be giving Oz too much credit. :P

If you don't like a post then go to another topic...why make a post letting us all know you didn't like the post. We don't care...move on...

I for one thought it was a good contribution with just enough sarcasm and facts spread throughout. :headbang
