Hochevar surprisingly fell past the Cards. Yet they took Greene. How odd. They took the lessor of the Boras clients.

Pawalek, Cubs, is that Utah HS pitcher that everyone stopped following after he signed up with Boras.  I'm almost certain he is a Boras guy.

He is. He'll be a very, very difficult sign.

Right after quickman meets him and gives the official seal of approval. :D

Here is my official seal of approval. "Welcome kid, you have a 20% chance of making it to the show, you have a 70% chance of being traded, now go out there and blow your arm out."

What are some names I should hope fall to the 3rd for us?

Who are our possabilities.

3B? Greene?

Nice, what a dicktard, hope they have the PBR on tap tonite and no smarmy guy behind the bar.

They said the same about Bobby Brownlie, and the Cuibs got it done. Boras only can work with a few teams and the Cubs know it.

You can push the probability of being traded up to 90% if the slightest notion of talent is observed. You know, because "Prospects are prospects. 86 years without a champsionship...(cliches continue)"

Let them sweat it out, fine by me. Brownlie was already in college I believe, if so, different scenario than this. This Pawelek kid has a scholarship to one of the big schools ... Arizona maybe?

Torra didn't go yet.

Winston Salem should become a very interesting team in the next couple of weeks. It's a possibility that they land three real solid pitchers in Broadway, Gio, and Liotta. Or, am I off on Liotta?

Well Jim if he didn't want to sign to play then he would not have hired Boras.

Makes me wish we had a sandwich pick...lots of good players still on the board (Hochevar, Torra, etc.)

Jason, Ramos from Long Beach is still on the board. You think he'll last through the supp round?

The Cubs have deep pockets, and I'll be shocked if they don't get a deal done.

Long break after the 1st?

Maybe and maybe not. College could net this kid a bigger payday in a couple of years. We'll see how it plays out. I do not want the White Sox playing the Boras game and am glad it didn't happen.

One could also say many of these kids who did not sign with Boras are more anxious to play pro ball ... like now vs. 12 months from now.

Again, who knows.

off subject a bit, remember when everyone said it was a big mistake to get rid of Olivo last year. Remember when you and I said he will be nothing more than a back up catcher? Interesting that Seattle took a catcher with the third pick. Maybe its because olivo sucks. Yea thats it.

LOL, I was thinking the exact same thing when the Mariners took Clement. Olivo is a mess right now.

Edit: the biggest whiner about it was that baggio guy, he fell in love with all the players, almost like a teenage girl ... strange.

Very unlikely, imo. He's had his stock rise as of late. But with some of the guys sliding he could end up going very very early in the 2nd round.

Every question gets the same answer: They drafted the best available athlete.

Sheesh.

Any others besides the southpaw from Vandy to hope falls to the Sox in the 3rd?

Would love to see the White Sox snag some cathers in the next few rounds, they need it. Very thin at that position.

Hey where do you draft gurus have Mike Bowden (Local from Waubonsie Valley) going?
