The way it sounds, I think the Sox are working on a lot of deals that could all go down, or just one of them could down. Sounds like Kenny is busy and for the most part it seems like he's interested in all of these guys, not this guy or that guy.

He's gonna be agressive. If an opportunity opens up that he likes, he'll take it.

Crede>Huff (this season)

what's the point?

Huff's HR & OPS dropped since 2003.... just like Lowell's.... HMMMMMMMM

Have you even checked his montly splits and seen that he is getting hotter and hotter as the year goes on? Along with that he is a notorious second half hitter. Check his career numbers.

:o

Do you even know who Aubrey Huff is?

I bet you didn't know that Huff is batting .311 in July with 7 HRs and 21 RBIs, oh yeah that's a .958 OPS for the month, for one of the worst teams in baseball.

Many people (mainly GMs) have said that Huff's production dropped at the beginning of this seson due to a lack of motivation, he's board in Tampa, he's 28 and has never had anything to play for. Huff is a 30/100/.300 player, don't ever compare him to Crede offensively ever again.

Thank you Kalapse. You expanded what we both thought with some hard numbers to back it up. I was just being lazy and trying to get out of work :cheers

Huff is WAAAY better offensively than Crede will ever be. Just to give you an idea... Huff was ranked by Yahoo Sports (a joke, right? yeah, but they get their stuff for baseball from Sporting News, so not so bad) as the 29th best player in baseball (fantasy wise, ie avg, rbi, homers, runs, steals) at the beginning of the year. Usually players rankings' are adjusted during the course of the season based on their play. Even after a horrible first half, he's still ranked 29th. Why? Because he IS that good and is showing it now since the All-Star break. He could easily be our most productive hitter next year, hopefully replacing one of many individuals who enjoy hitting popups.

Who said he would replace Crede. I for one definitely don't want Huff playing 3B unless we are in a bad situation. He would be or 1B/LF/DH

Will Carroll in Baseball Prospectus said the White Sox sweetened their offer to Philadephia for Wagner by throwing Crede in. It was McCarthy, Marte and now Crede. Maybe it means they would acquire Huff to play 3b. Maybe it isn't even true. But it is some new information.

NO! That's f***ing stupid. You don't trade Crede and put Huff in as a replacement, Crede is one of the reasons that the Sox have gotten this far, his defense has been absolutely stellar this season. Replacing him with Huff would be a GIANT downgrade defensively. Huff can not play 3B everday.
