This s*** happened in Oakland .. they hit us and we can't f***ing retaliate.  Well, the Sox did the right thing.  It was time to drill somebody, damn the consequences.

Is it the same ump from that game?

if the guy at second or first get out....the streak is still intact because they are buehrles runners....and only one more out is needed  or so i think that's how it goes

No, MB only recorded 17 outs.

damn..the streak is over...Buehrle your still the man and what a teammate to have.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 01:21 PM)
And what for..? Some silly retaliation. Heaven for bid the Sox take the high road.

I like it honestly. You stand up for your own guys. You can't let your guys get hurt on purpose like that. Its the right thing to do.

this is where we drill the ump

Your still the s*** Mark!!!!

If Vizacaino gives up a long ball, I'll go nuts.

I love Hawk. I love this team. Who cares about the streak? Way to go MB!! :notworthy

Vizcaino bites, I say we use him to hit another guy before he gives up a million runs. :D

this was needed, frustration on our side was getting too high. Don't understand why we didn't hit sosa, but whatever.

lol I like it

Why would you retaliate with a lefty up and a runner on first? The umpire is just wrong here. This is a result of Ozzie popping off in his press conference yesterday, make no mistake about it.

Don't know if this has been said but it looks like this breaks 6+ innings streak...

I just woke up and tuned in (It's only 11:30 here), and that was the first pitch I saw. I immedeiately checked the inning and outs... 5 2/3 innings. That pisses me off, I like streaks.

So be it. I don't. Not when the streak is on the line if he or Ozzie cared about it. He could have waited one more inning. No sympathy from me.

this is why we love hawk (or should).

he's feeling the same way we are.

Heaven forbid the Umps let the game be played. I'm cool with this happening, it shows Mark willl put his crap aside for the team.

thats awesome tho that mark doesnt care as much about his own streak as he does his team mates

props to you mark, you're the man

The situation didn't make sense, but watching the pitch and knowing MB's control, there is no doubt that was on purpose. None.

Screw the high road. Somne times you have to take a stand.

Uhh no. He was definitely throwing at him. Everyone calling the game agrees on that part.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 01:19 PM)
With a runner already on 1st?  Shouldn't it have been with 2 out, nobody on?  Oh well, I'll take retaliation no matter what.

Who's coming in?

So let's put a man in scoring position and we now have to rely on vizcaino to come in and get out of this. If and we we have to retaliate do it with two outs and no outs with a bigger lead. No need to risk getting throw out by a jackass. Buehrle should have learned his lesson when he nearly got throw out a couple games ago for the same reason.

I would also like to retaliate with someone who throws a little faster ( politte, marte, jenks).

alright two strikes now stay away and we should be fine

It goes to show that Mark Buehrle is a great teammate, streak be damned. Mark cared more about standing up for AJ and Tadahito vs his own personal accomplishments. The team obviously comes first to him, and I respect him for that.

Good for you.
