He's thrown 69 pitches through 4.2 innings...at that rate he should be able to get through 7, or at least through part of the 7th.

Check that, 71 through 5. That's an average of 14.2 pitches per inning. So at this pace, he finishes up 7 innings with 99 pitches.

He's had a very good season this year, after he was a disaster as a closer.

I don't think pitch count gets him. Its more a mental thing. I agree if he breezes through the sixth, bring him out for the seventh, but after that, if they string together a couple of hits, have someone ready.
