Unless Pods bats .800 and steals every base including home when reaching, this offense will not look that much different. He doesn't make everyone else take better hacks. Besides, how was Pods doing when he went down?

why would you want Pablo in the lineup anyway? Just because he's the closest thing to a speedy lead off hitter that we have? Because he was great at the plate last night?

Tonight was the first time that the Sox could have started Anderson against a below average starter. It would have been a good guage to see if he really was overmatched, or was it just the top flite pitching that was making him look foolish. But, no. Timo needs to add his veteran presence to the top of the line-up.
