Jeff Bajenaru Replaces Jon Adkins in Chicago

By Jason Gage

FutureSox.com

In a surprise move, the Chicago White Sox promoted RHP Jeff Bajenaru from AAA Charlotte. Bajenaru will replace Jon Adkins on the 25 man roster. Adkins was called up on August 1st but pitched in just 5 games. The Sox used Adkins as a mop-up reliever. Bajenaru will likely see action this week as will the rest of the pitching staff as the Sox have limited off-days and a double-header on its way...MORE

I just hope Ozzie doesn't have a Bradford moment in the playoffs.

Do we have 39 or 40 on the 40-man now?

Should be 39.

Non of the recent moves have affected the 40 man roster.

Matt Smith was the last 40 man shuffle.

I was going to ask what roster spot McCarthy would take tomorrow, but I'm assuming Crede would be DL'd and then McCarthy would be activated.

Then Thursday comes and Harris, Gload, Crapkins, Anderson, etc. all come back.

Jeff is the manliest of men...

So... some reliever with nice numbers in AAA just got called up for the stretch run. Well hey, what the heck, I hope the guy does alright.

Am I the only one who thinks this move makes absolutely no sense?

We are shorthanded enough on offense as it is with Crede out, so instead of bringing up an IF to give us some much needed depth we bring up a pitcher...

I don't care if the guy is Jesus Christ himself. WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER PITCHER!!!

We could easily be looking at another Oakland game where Dye plays SS... I sure how KW isn't stupid enough to go into the Double header with only 5 infielders on the roster.

Ohh and because i'm sure i'll hear it... NO GLOAD DOESN'T COUNT!!! WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER 1B... We need someone to backup SS, 2B at least... Either Lopez, Harris, Norton even...

Anyway glad this guys getting a shot at the majors but KW seems to have short handed this team offensively...

Harris was just recalled. Crede's on the DL. Sorry that your rant has no merritt. KW is not dumb, he doesn't want a repeat of Oakland.

Ya, Its a feeling I've gotten, but I haven't had any luck finding any verification of it.

Bmac is supposed to pitch tomorrow and than again on the 5th from what I know.

Rotoworld says that Baj may most likely be sent down to make room for BMac tomorrow. Well then why not promote BMac now?? What's the point of promoting someone who pitched yesterday and probably won't be used today in order to demote him? Unless there's a chance that they think he'll pitch in game 1 and then demote him after game 1 and keep him with the team for September.
