Cotts did his best Marte impression by hitting a lefty on an inside fastball and then allowing a hit to a lefty. I still wish he would have started that inning.

Then Ozzie forgets that the clock has struck past the 6th inning and El Duque is 40 years old to old to be pitching past that. He suddenly became Thriller in that inning and gave up his typical dong.

Ozzie plays the strict lefty/righty roles in the bullpen, but leaves starters in to long, and misplays our position players.

I knew what you meant. It's just hard to get mad at Cotts for hitting ONE batter. Hell, at the beginning of this year, I would have been happy if Cotts went 1/3- while allowing 2 runners.

It's not the panic, it's the fact that Ozzie continues to make the same mistake with Duque in his starts. When everyone but the manager thinks the pitcher should be pulled, it makes you scratch your head.

What I believe: I believe the Sox management is crazy if Konerko isn't resigned to a long term contract. He has been the team leader all year and briging it with the lumber. I am also impressed with his improved defensive play.

Ozzie seems to be overly concerned with the starters going 7 innings. El Duque is good for 6.

All I know is this is 4 straight starts where Duque has allowed a run in his last inning.
