Chances are Jermaine doesn't even go up there and look at Cora in that situation and ozzie isn't going to tell him to bunt before he even sees the defensive setup. That's all dye there, he's not hitting well right now and he was trying to get on base. I'll guarantee you Jermaine did that on his own.

Paul Byrd is a meatball throwing junk pitcher who typically thrives the first time through the lineup--until opponents realize what they're up against and hit him.

 

Their plate approach is terrible. Everyone in the ballpark knows our ballclub is swinging early to avoid the bullpen, and thus far, it hasn't done much to their advantage. So now, instead of working counts and awaiting good pitches in hitters counts, they've become too aggressive. How many popouts have there been tonight? Too many in my view.

The thing that pisses me off most is that they aren't working Byrd at all. Everything is early in the count.

 

The one guy who took him deep in the count - Pierzynski - got an RBI knock.
