Boone should not be in late in a game with a 1 run game going. I would rather have thorton and his 94 mph fastball going against Hafner in that situation.

the only logic i can think of for not using cotts is if the sox were planning on using cotts as the closer, but ozzie has said, hes stickin with jenks for now

Hopefully Boone s***ting the bed in these situations will show Ozzie that he shouldn't be put into big situations yet. I too am not sure why we didn't keep McCarthy in.

Unlikely. B-Mac or not, you don't use a rookie against a guy like Hafner with a one-run lead.

A week ago 3/4 of this site said they didn't want Thornton in unless we had a 6 run lead.
