i picked it up on the 4th and haven't really had time to play it. What does everyone think of the swing stick? Does anyone have a list of the songs for all the players on the sox so that i might make my 2k6 a little bit more real? Even though thats kinda hard considering the work they put into this game. My only complaint is no drag bunting

Funny you made this thread I have been reading up on it all morning debating whether to get it or not..

The graphics still look like crap and I have been reading a lot of complaints on IGN..

Can anyone give me a good reason to buy this game ($40) instead of just updating my MVP 05 rosters to current ones?

Mvp2005 is still awesome, how do you go about updating your rosters? as for MLB2k6 its pretty indepth the pitching system they have is pretty awesome, and the swing stick takes a little time to get used to but you can basicly hit to all fields, id advise everyone to at least rent it to see if they like it.

I'll give you my opinion on the 2k6. I hate it. I just picked it up yesterday and I felt like I was playing a Sega game. the graphics are terrible and I hate the controls. I'm glad I kept the receipt. EA Sports released one more roster update, but are no longer online for MVP 2005 now. So, for me, it's either updating the rosters manually or renting The Show and checking that out. I was disappointed in 2K6, I thought I would be able to play it, but I just can't. Keep your $40.

I took about 2 hours on a Sunday and updated MVP myself. MVP 05 is timeless.

How in depth did you update it.. because I was going into hour 3 before I finally had to go to bed and im still not even close to done..

I am currently working on teams Bullpens.. for the most part I have people were they need to be.. but I still have to finish that, then set lineups, then make sure the pen is in order THEN create guys that arent on the game..

I might play as Florida when its all said and done, might be fun

The one thing I didnt do is create rookies.

BTW, just made a SWEET deal. I traded Freddy Garcia,Crede and Anderson(He is in the game) for David Wright and Carlos Beltran. Beltran is signed for 7 years at 18 mil, thats why the Mets wanted to dump him.

Moved Mac into the rotation, won 111 games simming the whole season(just wanted to see how good they would be)

Nice. I am probably going to go through and adjust some player ratings that are way off. I havent played it in a while so im gonna have to get some warm ups in..

Also, I know its been a while but has anyone figured out how to set the sliders to make the game somewhat realistic?

The best I could do was insane low scoring games.. like 1-2 runs max, Ide KILL to have realistic play

Ugh.. this game is terrible

It would take forever to type out all the problems after just 4 innings of play.. heres a little recap..

- Konerko and Uribe are basically rated the SAME.

- If you get a single, the runner rounds first base no matter what (I was thrown out twice) The computer also does it to, very poor baserunning AI.

- When the players swing their entire bodies turn, they do not look at the ball what so ever.

- Lineups and rotations are completely screwed up.

- The commentary had a few glitches. Not that big of a deal, but I am just saying.

Save your $40, its not worth it. Rent it and youll see. Its a pretty poor game, I will now finish my updatement of MVP and start with Tony's sliders.

I might have told you that I wanted to get it, which I was really thinking about, because some of the Mods for MVP 05 are incredible.

Hell yea. Thats one of the bigger pluses of getting games on the PC, the mods. I've always been a PC person, and thats one of the reasons that keep me from buying XBox or PS2 for games.

I'll give your sliders a shot sometime.. I've been looking for a good set. What difficulty are they supposed to be for? All-Star?

The game was a good one, and I almost blew it by pulling an Ozzie and leaving Buehrle in there for too long. Thornton was able to get out of the 8th with the bases juiced and not let up a run though, so that was a relief. Jenks got hit hard in the 9th, but finished it with a double play ball.

As for the sliders themselves, I liked them. I'm not much of a strikeout pitcher, so it's not surprising that I only struck out one person, but I do like that the computer was more wild than usual. There wasn't an abundance of power, and it wasn't that easy to keep the ball in the zone (as shown by Buehrle's 3 walks). The game was a close one throughout, and was much funner than without these sliders.

Wow... just wow...

I feel sorry for all of the brainwashed MVP lemmings...

Not only are the Graphics so much better on 2K6, the controls are awesome... Swing stick took awhile to get used to. I also love the more realistic pitching... and how they incorporate natural breaks and movements to the pitches...

MVP 2K5 was the most baseball game to come around since triple play. It was an awful game that I had to take back after one week because the PS1 graphics and horrible controls made me vomit every time I turned on my PS2...

I'm feeling really sorry for you people...
