Well he's never going to be on that show again. North's response tomorrow should be interesting as well. He was freaking GOING OFF on North, that was classic, he was pissed.

Dempster looks terrible now. He's recanting his story like a little school boy b****. Comcast Sports Net ran his comments off The Score, then Guillen's response, then Dempster's extended rant. He's really going off now, suggesting he was "misquoted" and essentially blaming Mike North.

You could infer from those comments that he witnessed the act with his own eyes. Next sentence, Dempster says Cora's behind the white line for a reason; if he's going to get involved, he'll end up injured.

 

Dempster back peddled when interviewed about these comments. It's easy to say you were misquoted in print, or perhaps taken out of context with soundclips--but when something is played without interruption it's difficult to misinterpret.

Oh I agree he looked terrible Flash, and I don't think he was nearly as misquoted as he says he was. I think to an extent North and Dempster are at fault here, but for sure he'll never be on that show again and for sure Dempster wasn't as misquoted as he said he was.

This is what I thought happened. North got his stories confused about what DJ was saying happened in San Diego and what happened at the game during the fight, and asked Dempster about it who answered before he knew what he was talking about. Both of those guys are at fault here.

Offman should be fired, he did the same thing while he was the "beat reporter",and was replaced from that role.

There is more to this story. The misquotes ended up in the Trib article about the whole thing (Sullivan). The Sun~Times story actually researched the interview on the SCR web-site and said that Dempster was not miss quoted by North.

It appears that Dempster and Ozzie have made up.

Offman has made a lot of mistakes lately, he usually gets the early scoop but lately he's been creating more stories than he's reporting. This could be the end for him. At least he's owning up to it.

I was just looking at the Scores website don't they have something where you can download and listen to the interviews they have had?

Dempster and Ozzie were actually in Florida for a year or two together and are friends, so it's no surprise they made up, just as it's no surprise North is stirring the pot and Offman is screwing up reports.

Here is exactly what Dempster said to Comcast Sportsnet about Mike North

I heard the replay of North's interview, and he was being a typical ackass where he asks a question, then immediately makes another stupid comment, and the person makes an answer that sounds like it belongs to a different question.

 

North's original question was about Cora getting involved with the brawl, then before he gave Dempster a chance to answer right after he asked him for an answer, he added the comment of Cora biting someone which came from DJ. Dempster answered something to the effect of "yeah, that was one of the most bush things I have ever seen with him running out there failing his arms around."

To me it sounded like Dempster was answer the original question, but the nitwit scoreboard update guys at the Score made it sound like Dempster was confirming that Cora was biting someone. The Sun-Times and Tribune then took off with the ball.

 

North is a moron, and if Ofman really is responsible, his ass should be suspended for some time.
