Who cares what Ozzie said? This is really getting out of hand.

I only heard portions of it but it involves something Ozzie said on the field yesterday, Duncan thinks Ozzie said something along the lines of "I called over to the Cardinals during the game to apologize for his son being hit." Ozzie didn't actually say this though, or atleast that's what I was told, he just said that he was sorry for Duncan's son being hit but never actually said he called the Cards dugout.

 

Duncan was upset that Ozzie "lied" and said that he doesn't like liars.

His son got hit in the ass. He should be pissed off at Ponson. Maybe he didn't try to hit any White Sox batter, but even LaRussa said it looked bad, and Ponson even said he didn't blame the Sox for being pissed.

He should be irate at the fact that his 2nd and 3rd starters gave up 33 runs (well, they gave up most of them) in the last two games.

Duncan was not upset about Ozzie's "***" comment or even that his son was hit by a pitch, he understands that. He's just upset that Ozzie "lied" about calling the Cards during the game to apologize, though he seems what Ozzie said has been misconstrued.

 

It's a "Jump to Conclusions mat". You see, you have this mat, with different CONCLUSIONS written on it that you could JUMP TO.

 

Perhaps we can avoid jumping to conclusions before hearing any part of the story?

The Score had the cut of Ozzie talking, and a caller pointed out that Ozzie was really saying "told" not "called" and last I heard, Murph agreed with the caller and it was fairly obvious to me that Ozzie said "told."

and found that Ozz actually didnt say "called". Van Dyke mis-reported. Score made sure to let everyone know that the Trib again misreported something involving the WHITE SOX

To be fair, Ozzie ever easy to understand, and Duncan was going to be pissed no matter what. The difference between phone call and face-to-face talk is inconsequential in this story, IMO, and Van Dyke wasn't doing anything intentionally. Meanwhile, isn't talking to someone in person better than a phone call?

To me, Duncan is either a liar or a complete idiot if he thinks Ponson didn't hit those guys intentionally. But I guess we have enough discussion on that around here.
