Well considering our starting 9 from opening day plays in about 22% of the games, we may see it at least once this series.

Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.

looks like the Tigers hitters figured out how to hit our starters, take 2 strikes than swing at the meatball coming after that.

Let's be honest here. KW made too many moves and ruined a team that had good chemistry, played fundamentally sound, and had a good attitude. Oh and di I mention we won the f...ing World Series. He should've never messed with a good thing.

The alternative to standing pat was improving the team. So we're more concerned with winning trades than improving the team?

Um, it would be hard to improve the team if we were getting ripped off in trades.

I'm waiting to see if Jose can pull out of this with some masterful pitching. If not, time to turn this off and save my blood pressure from going through the roof.

I think Hawk dove head first out of the booth.

Kenny Williams needs to flip a table again.

the only way this team is playing in post season ball is if the Twins fall flat.

And you're a very optimistic, laid-back poster. :cheers

:cheers

But if we get swept, I'm starting my own pessimistic rant thread.

Its incredible to me the starters don't have more success. Over the years, even bad starters throw a gem every now and then.

The sad news is that Contreras is close to having his ERA going over 4.

This is making me sick...

Ain't much of a game. Too bad Jose didn't have his "A" game going. Man, I'm praying to God this isn't the start of what the Yankees did to the Dead Sox. I have no idea WTF I would do or say if that were to happen.

I do not like where this team is headed right now.

Looks like their heading right into the dump....Our starting pitchers have lost velocity, and our power hitters cant hit Hr's.....This is bad

Not if Garcia or Vazquez were on the way out. It's difficult to lose a trade like that.

Last year's offense+this year's pitching=the 03 Tigers

Remember when Contreras was an ace.

Keep throwing away to the tigers on 2 strikes. Our team doesnt scout at all.

Ballgame. Hit one down the LF line with Pods out there and Ron Santo scores from first.

Contreras threw his 2 starts ago. This pitching staff is unbelievably bad.

I said that because I haven't heard him speak in 10 minutes.

Is Brandon McCarthy still a reliever on this team? Why isn't he warming up yet? Is he secretly be stretched out or what?

I noticed lots of newly purchased Tigers hats in the crowd.

This team ruins your f***ing night like no other, makes me god damn sick

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 07:28 PM)
I still have hope that Garcia to the Mets will happen in the next 10 days.

Too late for any such deal, and a subsequent move for McCarthy into the rotation.

That opportunity was squandered around the trading deadline. Terrible decision by management. We'll regret it during the offseason when either injury issues are disclosed, or his value sinks even further than now.

It honestly annoys me we never seem to be in a good position concerning the value of our players. Beane, for all the criticism I've layed upon him, has mastered this concept. With our rotation at its peak, just off a World Series victory, Garland or Garcia would have been ideal candidates for a trade. Especially when you consider McCarthy's availability.
