Are the Sox "fun bad"??

Featured Replies

That's right, have the Sox gotten to the point now where we are so bad, it's almost fun in a sick way since you expect us to find a way to lose in a new manner every single night? I say without question yes, this team the last week and really since the break for that matter, has been Cub bad (and the stats agree, we are only 1 game better than them since the break). It's sick, but my friends and I just laugh and almost find it a badge of honor to live through this crap, I have lost the ability to be enraged anymore, which to me is a sign we are toast more than anything else I've seen, lol. Go Sox......in 2007.

There ain't a damn thing fun about any of this and I gaurantee Dan Bernstein would agree with me.

I'm familiar with the "fun" terminology, but this isn't fun at all. Not only are the Sox losing, but the games are boring as hell. We haven't been scoring enough recently to lose games in different, "fun" fashion.

No

It's not fun AT ALL, Dan would agree with me and you on that one. However fun bad is way different, it's not fun, but it's just so bad that you can't explain it and you in a sense can't even get mad at it anymore. That's fun bad, and is also where this team is at right now IMO.

I will say that I fully expect our offense to mess up every golden opportunity that they have. The exciting thing is that almost everyone has been guilty of blowing a huge chance during this pathetic stretch.

Exactly!! Fun bad obviously isn't fun, since bad is never fun....however that's the essence of fun bad. Expecting failure at all times, no matter how bright a situation looks, and then seeing the team fail somehow in new and amazing ways is fun bad. The Sox are certainly that at the moment.

Actually I see fun bad as being more like the Cubs right now, runs are scored horrible defense is played and they find a new way to lose every night. The Sox don't score any runs, they don't make horrific defensive or baserunning mistakes all that often and they basically lose one of 2 ways each night. I mean I love "fun bad" as much as the next guy but it's just not fun at all to watch this team and in order to qualify as "fun bad" the product on the field must be fun to watch in a sadistic sort of way.

The Cubs are a perfect example of fun bad lately.

I consider watching this team sadistic at this point. As for the Cubs, they are beyond fun bad at this point to be honest. Obviously it's hard for YOUR team to be fun bad, but we meet all the qualifications right now. Hell, we are only 1 game better than the Cubs since the ASB.

The only thing this team does is not f***ing score.

Good thing we have the most dangerous offense in the league. JFC...

This team makes me want to stab myself in the eye. So if that's fun, then yes.

It's really sad to see you become one of us. Hating on Ozzie, b****ing, feeling like you want to hurt yourself, hopeless......

Congrats on being one of the crazy ass diehards!! You'll hate it...errr love it around here. :crying

That's how garbage this team is. I'm just waiting for jphat to go off. I'm gonna bookmark that thread/post whenever it happens.

This season has been Frustrating, because of the inconsistency. What made it worse, was everyone thinking we would go on this magical tear ..........because of last year. Last years team was/is different from this years team, not to mention that there are other teams involved in the race (Twinks/Tiggers)

Gutless is how I will remember the 2006 SOX. Look at the Twinks, we are better than that team on paper, but paper doesnt win divisions or championships.

the sox haven't had the word "fun" associated with them in my mind since june.

Well, unless you count the word fundamentals, because we have none.

We'll be fine. We still have the best manager in Chicago history, Ozzie Guillen, and it's not his fault we have no fundementals, and can't pitch or hit anymore. That's all on the players, and Ozzie ALWAYS puts them in the best position of succeed.

I only wish this was fun. This team, barring a spectacular turn-around, is shaping up to be one of the biggest disappointments I can remember.

For it to be "fun bad" the team has to have no chance, and this team clearly has/had chances. I could go out and watch a fourth place team bungle and tumble to a losing record and have fun at the old ballpark. Laugh at their ineptitude, cheer for a good play from either team, and dream of the "can't miss prospects" in the minors. Here's a fun bad lineup that threatened to lose 100 games and finished at 64-97.

The 2006 team should be threatening to catch Detroit, at worst. No fun here.

no it's not fun, how about we get another 8 game winning streak and then I'll say it's fun.

Um no.

They are still fun to watch in person! Always hoping for a WIN somehow!

I liked Pants Rowland a little better.
