If you don't think it was then you were not watching him pitch. He was tossing crap up there every pitch he threw was hit hard and it all started with the fluttering cutter he threw on the first pitch.

it, though I wasn't sure, and Oz left him in.

Also just curious .. if Oz had yanked him and brought in a reliever who lost

the game, me thinks fathom still woulda blamed Oz.

Personally I'm glad I see in Oz a winner and can go by most of his

decisions. You guys seem to want another manager and ifyou got one,

believe me, you'd be all over that guy, too, cause they all get second

This is just incorrect. If Ozzie pulls Jenks before Sizemore comes to the plate and goes to Thornton (who was the only pitcher warming) and Thornton blows the lead? Ozzie would be getting praised right now for making the right decision.

 

You have to remember, we're not just hating on Ozzie because it's a fun thing to do or because we hate him or something he just catches heat for some of the seemingly stupid things he does. Ozzie has been praised a lot in the past by myself, Fathom and any other "Ozzie hater" on this board, there isn't a lot of 2nd guessing going on, it's mostly 1st guessing and when he makes a seemingly stupid move that does not work out, he's going to catch hell for it that's part of a manager's job.

Everytime I get mad at Ozzie... I think of Buck Showalter and Dusty Baker. It truly makes you appreciative of what you have.

Woohoo! I watched until the 8th and when I got back to the game it was bottom of the ninth with 2 out one on and AJ at the plate. And of course that was when I fell asleep lol. Good to see they won!

a great win? The closer blew a 2 run lead on double after double and AJ was fortunate enough to face a rookie who has only thrown 13 innings in the majors. If they were facing a team with an established closer, this game would have been over after that 6th run was scored. A win is a win I know, but they were very fortunate to get out of it with a W

It is relatively alarming actually, that our closer was throwing "high school quality" fastballs and got not one single out. Something is definitely wrong with him, and if he ain't telling then Ozzie should beat it out of him. Hopefully Hermanson will get to proper form quickly 'cause we need a closer ASAP. Thornton threw some good cheese though.

MacDougal is a closer, and has been excellent since coming over to Chicago.

Um, we wanted Thornton to be brought in to face Sizemore. He was the person warming up. The thing is greg, we were stating this stuff well in advance of the Jenks blow-up. There's plenty of time when you can accuse us of second guessing....but this isn't one of them.

Jenks needs to get healthy and get right. We have 2 other options that can closer out the 9th until his hip gets better. I am wondering when they will give him a cortisone shot. Thats the next step, so he can pitch free and clear.

Nope...once the first two guys got on, that was Thornton's game to win or lose. There's no one else in the bullpen besides him that would have even been an option after Jenks looked so bad against the first two hitters. If Thornton doesn't do the job there, then it's his fault.
