Gamethread: 9/12, Sox v. Angels

Hopefully Pods with K looking later tonight, so he'll keep up his 55 game streak of a grounder to first base and a K looking in every game he plays.

You can feel the intensity with the team tonight.

oakland gets a K but hte ball gets away and a run scores...jesus

The biggest failure to fix something is trotting out pods day after day and have his pathetic OBP, pathetic BA, and pathetic defense out there. Because last year, before the allstar break he was good.

Another hitter Ks on the outside corner. Just keep it there and you will only give up a few hits and should shut us out.

theres a lot of days when I think the soxtalk pages are too pesimistic, but if we get shutdown tonight after the tigers and twins win, its gonna feel like a morgue around here...

... and with good cause.

17 games left dude, we dug our own grave. If we can play well we can kick one of the other two teams into the hole and kick dirt over them. If we play like crap, then its adios.

I feel better that we took the pipe when we played the crap teams in the AL. Thank God we keep resting our starting lineup for winterball.

f*** the A's

This is the time of the year where you look back at games we've lost that we really shouldn't have (getting shutout by Boston's lefty rookie, Uribe failing to turn the DP against the Cubs, the inability to complete the sweep against bad teams), and it frustrates you that we're in this position.

Someone get on base for Frank.

If Juan plays for his D (like that), why doesn't Anderson?

f*** that Ass

fixed it...meh

I'm callin a Thomas 3 run homer in the ninth to help out his old team.

well ozzie played shortstop.... he knows its the only defensive position on the field that matters.

divine intervention?

Only Ozzie knows. The answer is probably the same as why Gload was down in AAA last year and Timo was playing 1st and DHing, and leading off.

If everyone wants Anderson in for his D, why doesn't everyone want Uribe in?

Can someone give me the low down. The Boston vs. Baltimore game is still on in my extra innings......

Cintron is a much more suitable back-up than Mackowiak.

His D has been lackluster this year

A walk and a dong in the first for the Angels, and our offense is napping.

He has no excuse for hitting so s***tily.

It's been lazier than it's been in previous years.

Plus Anderson's O > Mack's O

I am fine with Juan playing but Anderson should be too. Mackowiak is not that much better a bat that we can afford his lack of talent in the field.

One is a rookie showing signs of improving at the plate, the other is a vet who keeps getting heavier and who has a swing and a BA getting worse.
