No filters, I just duplicated a few layers and tinkered with the blending options.

Actually, by the way his body is contorted, it looks more to me like Anderson hit the ball to right field on a pitch low and away.

 

He's hunched over, his front foot seems to be pointing in the vicinity of 1st base, his eyes seem to have a horizontal view rather than him looking up at a pop up, and he only has 1 hand on the bat.

 

But then again, with his hips that open, it could very well be a pop up.

OR, the BP pitcher threw him a slider and Anderson completely whiffed. He had to look away in shame.

Or, you know, you can't really tell unless you were there...
