Gene Honda is the P.A. announcer for the Oscars! I'm not sure if he has ever done that before.

Right after the opening video I heard, "Please welcome your host... Ellen Degeneres".

Ok, i might need to correct this. I think it's actually famous movie trailer voiceover guy Dan Lafontaine. If it IS Dan Lafontaine, he's channeling Gene Honda. I demand a.... "number 14... Paul Konerko!" before the Oscars are over.

Oscars are notorious for running over schedule. According to Comcast it should go until 10:30, but considering 5-6 nominations remain, it shouldn't be finished later than 11:30.

 

Although I do agree it sucks.

I didnt know this was an Al Gore lovefest this year.

that performance was terrible. Three singers trying to sing way too many notes. Plus i thought dream girls was gonna have some funky motown songs not gospel songs.

1. I like Ellen, I guess, but I agree, where is Steve?

 

2. I think how little Ellen is on screen is why there is no Steve.

 

3. I don't "get" Al Gore. Am I the only person to feel like he is constantly acting?

5. The iimpressionistic dancers are REAL annoying.

 

6. Etheridge used a TON of backing tracks for her "live" performance.

 

7. Nice to see Eastwood so well prepared to deliver his friend Ennio with a lifetime achievment award.

 

8. I didn't know that it was really Will Smiths kid in that movie with him. Oddly, that makes me want to throw the f**k up.

hellen mirren is beautiful.

Helen Mirren wins best actress. It seems a lot of actors/actress' are getting awards for playing someone who is/was real. I'd rather see more original performances to start winning. Philip Seymour Hoffman had to win.

Jamie Fox did a good impression on Ray Charles. We have seen his other work and he isn't really that talented as an actor.

I would be ok with lesser known portrayals of real people such as Theron in Monster.

You could cut steel with the Reese Witherspoon's jaw.
