May 31, 200718 yr Wilbur Wood (well known to older fans so maybe doesn't apply) Switching topics slightly, my all-time favoreite roll player off the bench was on the Bulls, Granville Waiters. At the end of a blow out, the stadium faithful would start a Grraaaaaaaaanville cheer. Back top the Sox. Jorge Orta or Carlos May.
May 31, 200718 yr Shingo Takatsu (spent $210 on a jersey too) Tony Graffanino Willie Harris Bill Simas Josh Paul Rock Biddle's sideburns Miguel Olivo I loved the Milkman too but he started here for a while and was a pretty key guy. Timo Perez will always have a soft spot in my heart as well. No joke, I liked Timo. QUOTE(Beastly @ May 30, 2007 -> 09:43 PM) Billy Simas, Geoff Blum, Jamie Burke, Jose Canseco, Sean Lowe, Brook Fordyce, Gary Glover, Ray Durham, Tom Gordon, and D'Angelo Jimenez. not-so known? May 31, 200718 yr Wow Joe De Sa, he was the first white so baseball card i eever got, 1986 Topps. He died in a traffice accident in the 85-86 off season didn't he? I liked Craig Wilson (from Leyden High School), the Deacon, the Pope, Little Hurt, Paco Martin, Milkman, and Greg Norton.
May 31, 200718 yr QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ May 29, 2007 -> 06:40 PM) I was a big fan of Graffanino. Him and Gload are the first two players that popped into my head.
May 31, 200718 yr Most of these have been said, but.... Tony G The Deacon Shawn "Mickey" Abner Ross Gload Nobody has any Dave Martinez love? Or did I miss it....and what about Kirk McCaskill? HAD to like him. Edited May 31, 200718 yr by Getupstretch39
May 31, 200718 yr I always liked Alan Bannister from my earliest memories. I definitely have to mention Bill Almon at short. I still remember a Monday Night Baseball game in Boston. Maybe the ugliest game the White Sox ever played. They made seven errors on national television, and I believe Almon had something like four of them. Anyone else remember that night of infamy? SFF Edit: Well looking back, my history was a little off. The Monday night game was at home hosting Milwaukee (July 5th), and Almon had three of the seven errors. Still ugly... June 1, 200718 yr QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ May 31, 2007 -> 10:52 AM) I LOVED Granville Waiters. The best 12th man to hardly ever play the game. He was no Quintin Dailey.

OK, I'll stop now. Donn Pall. The Pope. How could I forget? A good South Side boy who grew up a Sox fan. IIRC, he went to Northwestern or some other Chicago area school, and wrote a very funny article for his school paper on the '84 Cubs called 'El Choko.' Sadly, last I checked it was not available on the internet.
June 1, 200718 yr I liked Scott Fletcher a lot, and that there Milkman Herbert Perry. I always loved that call, "and the Milkman delivers."
June 2, 200718 yr I've always loved the scrappy utility guys. Norberto "Paco" Martin, Craig Grebeck, Chris Snopek etc.
June 2, 200718 yr Daryl Boston-Remember my first Sox game at old Comiskey shouting at him through the grating from those picnic bench underneath the outfield stands Ron Kittle-Went to my old high school in NW Indiana Lance Johnson- 1 Dog Dan Pasqua Steve Sax Norberto Martin Miguel Olivo Ross Gload My all-time favorite ex Sox though is WILLIE HARRIS. I just liked him while he was with the Sox, and while he was a liability at the dish, he came through with the pinch-hit to get on base in Game 4 in the 8th and eventually scored the only run of the game. For that, I'll be forever grateful.

Well, Durham was just kind of forgotten and people gave him the FU attitude like they did Magglio (which is crap in my opinion.) Canseco was kind of just a late 2001 add-on so we wouldn't look like we sucked that year of Todd Ritchie and 20 losses, and Gordon is another one people forget about.
