Getting into an argument with a co-worker here so I figured I would see what some of the experts here think. I know both are pretty fast but is it really clear who is faster?

owens was a WR on UCLA..hes pretty fast

In a 40 yard dash on a track?

On the basepaths?

Out of the batter box?

In the outfield?

During an SB attempt?

Owens is clearly faster on a track, and im sure he has numbers out there. But Pie may be faster on the base paths.

Pie's faster....but that's nothing to be ashamed about.

regardless of whether it takes a little of his speed with him, I think he's thinner than Juan Pierre. And, according to weights and heights, I might be right. Yahoo has Pierre listed at 5'11, 180 opposed to Owens at 6'3 190. 4 inches should be more than 10 pounds.

Owens isn't really in the same league as Sweeney. Not many people see Owens as much more than a 4th outfielder, it's been that way for a while.

I agree...Orlando is ridiculously fast and he's made a lot of progress at the plate (plus he has some nice peripheal tools). Still very raw player though.
