Bugs & Cranks, which is a very popular baseball blog, is doing a run down of the best 8 baseball communities on the web and our very own Soxtalk.com was today's featured site (so in their eyes, we are amongst the top 8).

I wanted to say that I'm very proud to see this site get this type of pub/cred and remind all of the members here that it is each and every one of you that helps make this place really special. Sure the Sox are playing like piss, but we still have some of the best baseball and non baseball discussion on the entire web and I hope to continue to see the discussion and member base as well as the site grow.

Check out the write-up, its pretty cool (well maybe I find it cool considering it wasn't that long ago that I was in high school working with Scalise with SoxNet when we launched this place to be the official message board).

it sure beats the stuffing out of the flyingsock.

Wow, thats pretty cool. Its surprising to hear outsiders think so highly of the site.

My joined on date seems like so long ago.

Thanks and congratulations to all of you who make this site run so well.

Well we just need to pay attention and get an old fashioned Soxtalk Chicago-sytle ballot stuffing operation together when it is time!

:gosox1:

yeah i remember the stuffing of the ballot..... that was a beauty....

there are a lot of stories that can be mentioned that a lot of the young posters woul find hard to believe in, like when we shut down the old espn site attack.... who was the lawyer guy that got the thing going with dago beef.... ahhh crap i feel like an old timer reliving stories.

I've been here over two years, and I don't think I've ever seen a post of yours. Yet, you have over 4,000. What am I missing here?

LDF is old school...one of the first posters I ever remember being here (in fact he posted here before the place was Soxtalk and we were using a different board format).

thanks guys and i remember i posted something earlier this month asked where i have been. thing is as a community, we are still rebuilding down here. i live in LA and the hurricane rita of a few yrs ago nearly destroyed us.... working 6 days a week to at the business side of things, and we are about to start hurricanes season again.

that is my soap opera.... but every free time i have, i still come to my sites here, sox, hawks and bull talk site.

:headbang

my last major time here was when i got my lunch so what handed to me by rock raines with the vaz and chris young trade, which i never liked. but things happen and i couldn't come back to retort.

what i learn is life is good, when you wake up and your family health is there...... everything else comes a distant second. even in my old age i learn new things.

I wouldn't worry yourself over arguing on a message board anyway.

:cheers

the thing with me, it was good banter. i enjoys those. it improves my skills in typing, spellin (which i am lousy at) and some of these banter were funny in content.... i never took anyone serious. i respect everyone's opinion, i may not agree with them. but it helps or at that time helped build a site with lively conversation.

I am really surprised, honestly. I wouldn't put this site anywhere near the top. The posters here are great but the server is slow and there is no search function. I find it amazing that it would be in the top half for those reasons alone.

I really do love this site, though, don't get me wrong.

I feel like an ass even saying that

Yikes..! Look at what the cat dragged in!! :P Hope all is well.

BTW, for those of you that know him, I spoke to RPS on Thursday. He's doing awesome.

Nice! I liked that they also gave a shout out to SLaM.

What a delightful well-rounded site we are. :)
