SI is reporting that Troy Glaus received multiple shipments of performance-enhancing steroids in 2003 and 2004 while with Anaheim. I can't believe Darin would let something like this happen on his watch!

And so it begins. I really wonder what the public's response is going to be when they find out that -- goodness! -- Barry Bonds and Jason Giambi weren't the only two doin' some ad things.

It will be interesting when the first significant White Sox name comes out.

As long as it's not Thomas.

And what if it is? What if, say, Frank Thomas was clean, like Barry, until he got hurt, struggled, and decided, "f*** it, everyone else is doing it." What then? (Just playing devil's advocate -- not making any allegation.)

Sabean and Purpura have built World Series teams.

Guess they'd be good GMs if they had won that Series. But it's all up to the players.

I'm glad Littlefield is gone. He's beyond bad.

Purpura didn't build s***. Gerry Hunsicker built that Houston team, retired after the 2004 season, and Purpura came on board, signed Roger Clemens halfway through the year, and watched the team catch fire.

And it's not hard to build a team when you have a top 3 hitter of all time putting up some of the best seasons baseball has ever seen.

1. I'm being facetious.

2. TONY GWYNN is a better hitter than Bonds. (Truthfully, I think there are at least six guys I'd rank higher than Bonds. Tony Gwynn is not one of them. BUT HE IS NOW)

we get to argue Tony Gwynn again, eh? ;)

It's Gwynn > Bonds Fred McGriff

I forgot just how bad the Brewers are on the road.

Perhaps they should start carrying little pictures of Miller Park in their pocket to remind them of home.

David Bush is on my all-hated team.

Where does he rank in repsect to Estrada?

Zambrano is the captain, but Estrada is the starting catcher. Bush is #5 in the rotation.

Hmmm ... I like this all hate team. Can we get Ozzie to manage or are we stuck with Yost?

I take it Anthony Reyes is #4 and Aybar is starting at second?

Orioles probably going to shut down Bedard. Shame with the season he was having. I was kind of hoping for a strong finish and a CY.

So the Dodgers and Giants got letters from MLB about cooperating with George Mitchell on the 'roids investigation. I'm STUNNED that the Giants are being mentioned.

:D

The Cardinals pathetic infield defense, led by Miles and Branyan, have cost them two runs so far tonight. With Hudson possibly out for the year, I pray that if the Cubs make the playoffs, they don't face the Dbacks. That team is awful.

Let me just say how much I hate the Branyan pick-up for the Cards. He's the exact type of bad defense, no contact player they've stayed away from. They'd be better off just playing B. Ryan more....I think he's a good young player.

The Cubs starting rotation:

Zambrano hasn't won since July

Lilly got his first win in 5 weeks the other day

Rich Hill, who continued his return to earth tonight

Jason Marquis

Steve Trachsel

I know the playoffs are a large crapshoot basically, but that isn't going to beat anybody.
