this was the worst game illinois has played so far this year. Mendenhall couldn't get anything going, and iowa just continued to drive on the defense. Nothing really went well today.

After that upset...can the Irish pull off a BC upset. One can only hope (and no I'm not giving ND any chance).

Eventhough Illini lost it shows that in 1-2 years they could be a consistent contender.

After last week against the dumbest team in the Big 10 (Wisconsin) Illinois thought they could get away with not really ever attacking vertically. It almost worked if not for 2 ridiculous moves by Zook (accepting penalties to give a team another chance on 3rd down is bad) and a terrible time for a meaningless formation mistake.

The way Mcgee looked though you have to wonder if Juice will be transferring at some point, McGee looked much sharper, and the pass at the end was just horrible, but he got them that chance, hard to say Juice could have driven them better.

Now PSU v Wisconsin, hopefully Wisconsin decides to give another back besides Hill a few touches to change the pace because thunder over and over against just doesnt always work.

Young shouldn't be on the list because he's on a horrific offense and has been banged up. However, if your talking a healthy young he is better than Mendenhall. He's also a senior though so he has experience on his side.

i forgot hill too....i dunno where he falls...somewhere between hard and wells i would say

Zook showed his ugly face again today. Not declining those 2 penalties, not running w/ mendenhall more near the goal lines.

Just an awful day all around, if iowa could have finished their drives even decently, this one wouldn't have even been close.

Iowa's OLine featured Doering and Bulaga A TON. LOVED IT

Oh come on. If the Illinois fanantics are allowed to post their views, why not the people who dont like the school. With all the talk around here about the Heisman fav RB and the possibility of a big ten title, this is what happens when you lose to one of the bottom teams in the big ten.

I wasn't complaining, hence the smiley face. It's fun to see them get so much hate.

You know, I didnt even look to see who was posting.

And a good easy healthy win by the Buckeyes today. I truly am excited about watching Saine run behind the future block O in the next few years.

And why is that? Because your bitter Illinois beat Indiana? You're tired of seeing us be happy that our team is finally doing good?

Just wondering why you would make that claim considering even Indiana crushed Iowa, in Iowa, and Michigan is beyond pathetic this year..

I'm guessing today proved my point quite well thank you very much. Illinois, while improved is not that good. Michigan is nowhere near pathetic.

That said, the game next week at Illinois scares me a bit, especially with Mike Hart hurting.

Michigan's defense is just so mind bogglingly slow that I like the Illini's chances in that game, especially with what App. State and Oregon did to them, but that's not a sure thing at all. Henne should be fully revved up again by that game, and their offense is dangerous.

Michigan's defense is NOT slow. They simply look slow when they are playing in a reactive mode, rather than aggressively. When they make a bad read and are frozen trying to change direction, they look incredibly slow.

When they play well (which I admit has not been often of late), they don't look slow at all.

That was backyard rape.

I'm more than a tad embarassed by that 2nd half performance by us. Spurrier went into Lou Holtz conserve the lead mode for some stupid reason, and it took every minute of the game to win. 7 games into the season, and still yet to play an all around solid game of football.

Oveeeeeeeeeeertime in Kentucky.

Yep, it was an irritating game. Refs blew the interception by Deunta early on and SC held on at the end. I'm excited about UNC football for the first time since Mack left. Led by freshman and sophomores everywhere.

Pale, they have the talent at the skill positions, but the UNC O Line has to improve, and I'm sure it will.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about the style of the UNC OL coach, more of a Denver, smaller zone blocking scheme. You guys pushed them around pretty well. I would to see more guys in the mold of Kevin Bryant, one of our red-shirting OL at 6'7 350 pounds.

Smelley is going to be very good for you guys.

Good s***.

UK WINS

Down goes LSU. Guess Kentucky isn't that overrated.

I should have been rooting against UK in that game, but its REAL hard to cheer for th thug-ball LSU plays. So I'll say that I love last weeks win over UK even more now.

I officially give up on college football this year. As long as Illinois gets their 7 or 8 wins and makes a bowl, I'm happy. This season is just too bizarre. Congrats to Iowa, they played a great strategy against the option and Illinois otherwise couldn't get out of it's own way.

great goaline stand by the Oregon State Beavers. 20-14 OSU over Cal.
