Adding insult to injury with Thatcher coming in to get Prince out. That Linebrink trade has to be one of the dumbest trades in history.

Brewers aren't going to win tonight. It's amazing how the division was theirs for the taking over the last week, and they played some of their worst ball of the year. Someone needs to tell their coaching staff that playing not to lose is what caused them to lose. Way too many bunts and playing the infield back. When you're facing a team with a great bullpen, it's idiotic to give up cheap runs in order to avoid the big inning.

Go ahead and call me a Cub hater, but I won't respect whatever team 'wins' that division. The sad part is that the NL is so weak overall that the winner of NL Central might f*** around and make it to the WS.

It sure has shut up the Cubs bandwagon....but they'll be back in full force on October 3rd. I have no idea who I want to see them play now in the NLDS.

I said on Tuesday morning the Cubs have it locked up because they could lose out and Milwaukee still wouldn't catch them, and it turns out I might be right. The good news is with how well some other NL teams are playing, the Cubs postseason stay might be very short.

Who do you want to see them play?

*waits for Ned Yost is an idiot response by Greg the Bull or, well, you*

:cheers

Yost has done a horrible job.

And now for my second post in this thread...

yousorryasscockknockingturdburglars!

I have not posted in this thread yet. Maybe that will change things.

Brewers are as good as done, Cubs have tie breaker and with three games left a piece, if the Brew crew lose one its over.

Makes no difference, that entire joke of a league is a toss up. Whoever happens to suck the least in the next two weeks will go to the WS.

Philadelphia would absolutely kick their ass, so that is my hope. I honestly don't see them beating anybody in the first round though, because although they matchup best with Colorado IMO, the Rockies have won 10 or 11 in a row. The decision by Pinella to say Kendall is his catcher in the playoffs will kill them, every single is now a double with him back there.

He almost makes me appreciate Ozzie. Ozzie on his worst day is better than that loser on his best day.

Many people have suggested we should sign him to play LF next year. He's one of those guys that shockingly lost a lot of his power. You know who has very funny stats to look at, in terms of power decline..........Brian Giles.

Who suggested Jenkings?

I say the Phillies as well.

The Reds have said that they won't play Brandon Phillips much the rest of the way. Thus, they'd be missing their 4 best hitters. In some ways, it reminds me of 2003, when the Cubs made the playoffs due to facing a Reds team where D. Jimenez was their best hitter.

The Brewers aren't going to beat the Pads 3 times anyways. If I were you, I'd just hope the Cubs don't face Philly in the first round.

Huh? The Cubs went to Cincinnati in 2003 for the 2nd to last series of the year with a half game lead and left tied for first with 3 games left. The reason they clinched was after a Friday rainout, they swept a doubleheader from the Pirates on that Saturday at Wrigley while the Astros choked and lost to the 6th place Brewers that Friday and Saturday (at Houston!!) to fall 2 games out and thus be eliminated going into the last day of the year. As Mike Gundy would say, "GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!!" :)

are the brewers seriously going to start capuano?

What tiebreaker? There is no tiebreaker in the MLB that decides if a team is going to the playoffs or not; that is settled in a one game playoff.

The Cubs beat the Reds 4 out of 6 times over the last 15 games of the season. That Reds lineup had Freel, Hummel, Jimenez, Casey, Pena, LaRue, and Olmedo. I remember D. Stenson being one of the most dangerous hitters on that roster at that time (he tragically died a few months later).

That team had a pretty easy ride the last month and still only won like 87 games to get to the playoffs. If Robert Fick did not play in that NLDS the cub do not make it out of hte first round. I hate Robert Fick.

LOL...how ironic...the Brewers helped them 2003, and are helping them again in '07!
