October 12, 200718 yr A-row may very well price himself out of the place that he wants to play the most.
October 12, 200718 yr QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 12, 2007 -> 10:23 AM) Rowand at 14x6 = bad (and never going to happen anyway) Rowand at 10x4, though, is worth serious consideration. Yep. And a Boras-represented declining Andruw Jones isn't even worth thinking about.
October 12, 200718 yr I'd just as well try to swing a deal for a forgotten Cfer. Maybe the Angels would willing to part with Juan Rivera (they seem to have filled there OF and he wasn't exactly starting a ton for them even after coming back from injury). He's also a guy that in 2 of his 3 full seasons has posted an 800+ OPS and the other season posted an OPS in the .700 range. He has a strong arm and can play all 3 OF positions. Not sure how many more years he has left till FA, but he doesn't have a ton of service time for a 29 year old.

October 12, 200718 yr QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 12, 2007 -> 10:56 AM) He's a free agent after the '08 season. Well that makes it a little tougher, but I think he'd be the type of guy you could trade for and get to sign a relatively fair extension (for far less money than Arow and the other class of OF's gets). Of course there is some risk to this since he's coming back from a leg injury, but If he passes his physicals I don't see why he couldn't get back to his old form (hell just before he broke his leg last off-season the Angels and many were predicting he could really turn into an above average ballplayer. That was based on the fabulous second half of the season he had with the Angels that year).
October 12, 200718 yr Remember when $3 million a year was considered "a lot" for this guy? hope this isn't in the wrong forum. Pale Hose Talk is all for Philly players rumored to be asking for big money
October 12, 200718 yr If you people think Rowand is looking for alot of money your really going to be shocked when Hunter signs for 18-20 Mil per year. Edited October 12, 200718 yr by Jeckle2000
October 12, 200718 yr I don't even feel like reading the thread. I just want to put my opinion in here. Rowand's not worth half that. Not even close.

Who is shocked. Everyone here realizes that Hunter wants that. That still has nothing to do with Rowand not being worth 14 million, hell he isnt worth 10 million. October 12, 200718 yr Of course he's gonna say he wants that much. I'd take him at 5/$50M...though. Hell...he could get Konerko money...who knows.

October 12, 200718 yr QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 12, 2007 -> 02:04 PM) Rowand's not worth half that. Not even close. that would be a six-year, $42 million contract. I would sign him for that.

Maybe $10M Yeah I had $25M a year in Life money until my wife divorced me. I sure could use some of that Monopoly money now.

Maybe $10M $10 mill is the absolute lowest he'll sign for. I imagine $12 mill is the most realistic goal, and $13-15 mill is reasonable.
