Maybe, but if Prior is smart he won't go to a team that's in the national spot light like that. That will only add to the pressure. Of course, he probably wouldn't want to stay in Chicago because he might still be a lightening rod.

He'll probably end up in a big park like San Diego where he might get some starts in important games down the stretch but won't have the scrutiny of other cities.

Hopefully he didn't end up changing his mechanics like the Cubs wanted him to. His mechanics were great as it is. Cubs doctor's were terrible at evaluating injuries though.

It also means that the whole Kenny line that everyone went crazy about was crap as well, like a few of us were trying to tell everyone. Kenny doesn't think Danks and Floyd are top flight pitchers, but he has to say that they are. His actions are what we should watch, not his words. The entire planet knows he is full of s***.

I think if KW was really in win now he would do what it takes to acquire Roberts/Bedard... ship whatever prospects besides Fields.... than take 1 year flyers on id say Colon and Prior. Not saying I would agree with that approach but that would be only way I could give this team a chance of contending next season.

The fans won't care if he keeps putting up the numbers. The problem is that he might not be able to get a ball out of the infield now. There's too big a risk that he's been using for the last few years rather than that "one time" he talks about.

Don't you guys think he is one of the guys who was clearly juicing and now has nothing left since he can't juice any longer?? The guy has nothing left. The only guy that shrunk more after the 04 season was Giambi. Colon or Garcia's probability of success vs. Prior in 2008 is about a million percent better, and we all know what big risks those two guys are.

Because Prior wants only 1 year so that he can hit the FA market next offseason again hopefully having improved people's view of him. And out of the entire MLB, you think that there isn't one team that would offer a 1 year deal to a pitcher who they're not sure will be healthy? Someone will do it. If I were someone like Baltimore, Houston, San Diego, Washington, Pittsburgh, some team like that which could either use a pitcher or use trade bait, why not.

With a spot on the 40 man, I agree with that sentiment...I just think it makes more sense for the White Sox to go that route witha position player rather than a pitcher, since we at least have a boatload of pitchers who could benefit from seeing that time in the MLB already. Which is why I have more of an interest in McPherson, especially if Crede is moved, as I think he's more likely to be healthy and he fills the need of a bat in the future (esp. if Jim Thome were to leave).

I'd rather the Sox spend money on anything else. Signing their top draft pick, international operations, more chevy pride girls, etc.

The drill does have it's purpose in teaching full extension of the arm during the throwing motion. It is made fun of in baseball because it's part of House's drills that focus on a lot "non-baseball" activities to teach pitching mechanics. Such as the football example I used earlier.

 

It gets made fun of in the press for precisely the reason stated above. Prior has been rehabbing more than pitching and he has been seen doing these drills frequently.
