Ha. You know when he comes back, they will go on a skid.

Rockies choking again.

Reed Johnson just made the play of the year so far.

What happened?

This reliever the Nationals brought in, O'Connor, is terrible. The talent level in the NL is just embarrassing.

Seriously, fathom, I was thinking the same thing. My goodness, there are some truly terrible baseball players over there. And they all seem to play the Cubs quite regularly.

Is a Willie Harris walk off too much to ask?

Congrats to Wil Nieves...whomever that is.

Bob Howry = Cubs haters favorite Cubs reliever.

Len Kasper is real cool. That said, I look for sharp things to put in my ears whenever I'm watching a game and they do something good. Aramis' (least favorite ballplayer) jack the other night against the Rockies was particularly excrutiating. I would rather listen to farm animals creating new life.

Would you rather see the Cubs light a fire under the powerful NL and *then* see them play a 4 game postseason (like last year) or would you rather see them stumble the entire rest of the season (missing the postseason altogether)?

I think I would prefer option A.

Can the Sox trade offenses with the Cubs?

Good point fathom, but the Sox most glaring problems are with Thome and Konerko at the #3 and 4th spot, the cubs have Lee who is a much more rounded offensive player by far and not to mention plays great D. The Sox also got the wrong Colombian as well at SS. I really dont think Swisher should be leading off, but with what we have .. hes the best for that spot now. We need to trade Thome or Konerko and get Fields to replace whoever is traded. Everyone wants Crede to be traded but he is far more valuable than Thome or Konerko.

Uhh... how, exactly? Because he's had a good first month of the season, has a bad back, and is in his walk year with superagent Boras?

I mean, it's not like Thome and Konerko have an entire career of good to great numbers to back them up... oh, wait...

That's an absolute joke. Without Thome in the lineup, the offense last year might have scored 650 runs if they got lucky. Thome is the most valuable piece of the lineup right now and I don't think there's a legitimate argument against that.

The dropoff between Konerko and Fields is also much less than it is for Crede and Fields. You can make arguments Crede's more valuable as an actual baseball player, but you have to understand the circumstances too. So because of Fields' prescence, Konerko is more valuable.

Happy Lee Elia Day ...

Mike Cameron makes his 2008 debut with the Brewers and doubles in his first at bat vs the Cubs.

Cameron looks awfully skinny.

Maybe he has been dining with Prince Fielder.

Sheets has no command tonight. Shockingly, he doesn't look healthy.

Fearless Prediction: Despite having more innings than Prior and Wood together this year, Sheets will be out of baseball before either.
