Sox May 31 game will be blacked out - for the first hour!

Featured Replies

Today's Sun Times reports that the game will start at 5:05 (central time) and the Fox exclusivity doesn't end until 6:05. Tampa Rays will not change the start time because of a concert booking. So Comcast will run a special ticker until they can join the game. So that will be a little weird.

MLB's broadcasting rules and Fox's exclusivity rights are so ridiculous.

As long as Buerhle isn't pitching there should be plenty of game to watch.

So basically we just missed the White Sox getting no-hit and the game comes back just in time to see them start figuring out the opposing pitcher. Works for me.

A concert booking that same night? This makes little sense. That's 6:05 ET, right? The game gets ovetr at 9:00 if they're lucky. Everyone's out of there by 9:30/9:45. Does this concert start at 10:00?

MAYBE only an hour...depends on when the FOX game ends

This shows how serious Tampa treats their baseball team.

What about extra innings?

The concerts are tied into the game as a special promotion n Saturday Nights. See the game, stay for Kool and The Gang, Commodores, Trace Adkins, MC Hammer, Loverboy and more

Don't miss the Rays Summer Saturday Night Concert Series, presented by HESS EXPRESS featuring some of your favorite musical acts. The concerts will begin shortly after select homes games conclude and are FREE with the purchase of that night's game ticket. Tickets start at just $9. The Rays Summer Saturday Night Concert Series is part of Rays Saturday Nights presented by CATCH 47 / Bright House Networks.

Believe it or don't, the Bulls use to run these same types of promotions in the 1980s when a few thousand would be a crowd.

That is the lamest musical lineup I have ever seen.

It is sad that they need to add a music act to fill the stadium for a Saturday night game.

Trace Adkins is about the only current headliner on that list. But they probably do not have that big of a budget. Plus, it doesn't seem like they are trying to attract the older, retired crowd.

Turn Me Lose, Can't Touch This :lolhitting

I'll be there; not for the concert though.

Can't wait to get a Rays trucker hat!!!

I HATE Fox broadcasts.

Plus, whenever they get Sox games, they seem to ALWAYS have Met/Yankee game running at the same time, and it always takes priority.

I read today that Comcast will be broadcasting a replay of the game in its entirety after midnight.

Also don't forget...White Sox are now on OnDemand. Channel 999

I will also be there Saturday (the whole weekend in fact).

You gonna set up a live feed for us? :D

An hour, huh?

That means I'm going to miss 4 DAG-GUMMITs, 2 Ted Williams references and 5 to 15 complaints about the umpiring.

Don't forget we'll also miss one of Hawk's reminiscing of his career and getting emotional over his son's proposal during the game last night.

I can't watch anyways but if I were at home, I'd be pissed.

I finally have a night off from work and it would have been nice to watch the whole game.
