No, he's really not. Tons of base runners.

He should only have one run given up. He has been fine. As long as he bends and doesnt break. The rest of our pen likes to give up lots of base runners as well. Do you really want any of our pen to throw in the 6th inning. Thornton for 2 against this team isnt a good idea.

I'd stay with him.

No, he's burning pitches and allowing way too many baserunners.

And the alternatives wouldn't?

Thank you Gavin.

Got out of that one. Phew.

Whew, just barely got in on him enough! Great job Gavin!

Inning over.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I thought that was gone.

Please get runs.

busher tries tying the game, soft flyout to Dye

he almost got all of it, floyd pounds his glove because he knows he got away with a mistake

6-3 sox

looked gone off the bat for a second....good thing it jammed him up big time

let's throw some strikes here

My heart dropped.

Gavin's at 93 pitches. He needs to have an economic 6th.

YES. I'd give Floyd one more inning. After that turn it over to the pen.

What does that have to do with "Floyd isn't dealing"

He's doing "ok."

Sweet

I'd take my chances with our best on the mound, and right now, that's Thornton and Jenks. I think you give Floyd two batters next inning, and then you start to look at micromanaging.

now the 2nd half of the ball game. Lets "Boof" Bonser

Exactly and by pen, Thornton and Jenks.

2 span bloopers and a base hit by kubel that never should have happened....

Against any other team, probably. We're playing the Twins though. They have and will continue to happen.

Let's assume Floyd gets to about 110 after 6...who pitches the 7th might be Ozzie's most important decision of the year

INSURANCE PLEASE

Floyd has four more batters to go.

Then Ozzie has to go to Thornton, unless Gavin just really finds that curveball and gets on one of his patented rolls through the line-up for 2-3 innings.

Unfortunately, he's at 94 pitches and he still might have to go Monday on three day's rest against DET.

I wonder who would be pitching for the Tigers in that theoretical game?

YES. I'd give Floyd one more inning. After that turn it over to the pen.

The pen coming into the game in the 7th shouldn't scare your fans. It scares the s*** out of me, at least...
