Julio Lugo has been under the radar compared to what Holliday is doing since he got there.

Prince Fielder went after the whole Dodgers clubhouse last night.

I heard that they stole his entire pallet of Gardenburgers.

Gio Gonzalez had a very nice game - his breaking ball was sick last night

Baseball can be a funny game.

Last night against Johan Santana, the Cards scored 5 in 8 innings, then put up two against K-Rod in the ninth. (Not to mention the 5 in the 10th against the Mets so-called bullpen)

Today against Jon Niese, Nelson Figueroa & Bobby Parnell, they are getting shut out after 8 innings.

Gonzalez is 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in 18 2/3 innings over a three-start stretch against the Yankees, Red Sox and now, the Rangers.

But hey, Swisher was a fun guy to have around for a year!

EDIT: and did i mention he's only 23?

How about you post the rest of his stats on the year?

why? They're s***. That's not the point. He appears to have turned a corner in his very, very young career. Could be a blip but probably not, probably a sign of things to come.

Danny Wright had two good starts in his career as well.

Exactly. I'll wait until he's doing well more often to consider trading him a bad move.

You're basing this off a 3 game sample size, this is a very bad idea.

Sutcliffe is a terrible announcer. Tonight on the Red Sox/Rays game when talking about David Ortiz he said "he hopes and prays" (exact quote) that it's not true, then goes on to say how he believes him and wouldn't be shocked if it's MetRx or a "vitamin". He then went on to rip Manny saying what a horrible teammate he was for the Red Sox. Finally Dan Shulman chimes in and says "his last year with Boston" because Sutcliffe was completely ignoring Manny's prime role on the WS teams.

ESPN will spin that any way they can. They are going to try and save Ortiz's reputation hardcore. I hope he gets hit with a 50-game ban too, and then ESPN can spin that one into a positive light too.

ESPN can f***ing blow me.

Just wondering...Kerry Wood. How does a closer with a 4.97 ERA have even as many as 15 Saves? It's boggling my mind.

Check out CJ Wilson last year.

Joe Borowski and Todd Jones also say hi.

And I think it's safe to say Cliff Lee likes the NL. What an amazing trade for the Phillies. Amaro Jr. should probably get GM of the year.

Brad lidge has 21 saves with an era approaching 7.

Basically that's what pitching a small number of innings every year will do for you. A couple really bad outings and your ERA never recovers.

Shawn Chacon from 2004 says hello. 1-9 with a 7.11 ERA, 1.94 WHIP, 35 saves

That's insane.

Mike Williams was an all-star closer and at the time of the break he had a 6.44 ERA.
