Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Indians 5/11/09 6:05 CDT, WCIU

you watch, bring Beckham up, and see how quickly Walker completely f+cks up his fundamentally perfect swing/approach.

I almost would rather have his stay down and out of harms way, at least this way, our fantasy of how good he would be at the pro level cannot be destroyed....

seriously, how much worse can the progress of hitters get with ANY replacement at hitting coach...?

Great news!!!!

We can lose again tomorrow. Clayton Richard is starting, they switched around the rotation again.

1/59 AJ?

Just kidding...AJ's really getting better, according to DJ.

Corky Miller has thrown out no one. The pitching staff other than Buerhle and occassionally Danks has a hard time giving the catchers much of a chance.

Jimmy Gobble's White Sox debut - maybe he can take steroids like Esteban Loaiza and totally turn around his career here!!

You still only move Jenks for a King's ransom. He's getting more expensive yes, but the economy may well hold arbitration totals down, and he's probably going to be a guy that we can get draft picks for if he walks some day.

Wouldn't arbitration be based off of previous seasons' contracts for closers? I'd much rather get some known talent for Jenks than trust the Sox with not going cheap with draft picks.

Don't look at Gilmore's stats if you're in a bad mood.

Alright! We have another Loserbridge waiting in the wings down in A ball.

JD, Thome, possibly Dotel...we're not going to get picks for them if they depart at the end of the year...so it makes sense to just save the money if we can.

But, if Papelbon continues to set the market for relievers in Bobby's year, it's going to pull up Jenksie with him, whether we like it or not. It's not like the arbitrator will say "well, the Red Sox are more profitable while the White Sox just had 1.7 million in attendance, give JR a break..."

Floyd got his payday I hope he earns it!

I said yesterday...obviously Sox don't feel a hitting coach makes any difference. Thus, go with no hitting coach, and use the extra money to sign Timo Perez.

He may only be hitting about .150 with no power and a ton of k's but he only has 10 errors.

At least KW has the Swisher trade to deflect any criticism of the Javy trade. As much as I hated Javy, I'd gladly take him on this team as the #3.

I would rather have Stone as hitting coach at this point than Walker.

The Gobbler eats up Floyd's ERA to 7.32.

That's almost as good as my AIG investment...good thing KW only managing talent and not my portfolio since this past off-season.

If only Hahn could be the GM and Stone the manager.

About what? At least with Javy, like it or not, he'd give you innings.

This team is DOA for 2009 as currently constructed :bringit

Based on Javy's Jistory, he would end up winning 16 games with this garbage team.

I personally don't mind either trade. The only thing that bugs me is KW talking like he fleeced these teams talent-wise. Marquez absolutely sucks. Nunez is 22 with his 4th organization, Lillibridge is garbage, and the Sox actually had the nerve to compare Gilmore to Crede a guy who was a minor league MVP twice I believe.

We have DJ Carrasco, Broadway, Egbert and Charlotte for that....

Why would we need to spend $10+ million on a decent major league pitcher with 4 pitches and almost a decade of 200+ innings each year???

You're on the crazy train, Fathom!

Why is it Walker gets criticized for the hitting but Cooper gets a pass on the pitching? The Sox have allowed 8 or more runs more than they have been shutout this year. After Cooper went out to talk to Floyd he gave up 2 hits and a HBP allowing 4 runs to score.

I'm sorry I made this about Javy though...we're all happy he's gone. It's just his innings should be appreciate in a year where 6 innings in cherished land for our starters.

I would love to see it. I bet Stone would be a little prickly with player relations in the beginning, but I don't think he would ever give up his restaurants/investments and "easy life" with Lisa except it would be a big challenge, and he has a healthy ego, not quite like LaRussa, but close. (They would still be able to make it to Taco Bell for late night "Fourth Meals" as an added bonus.)

From listening to him all last year and this year, I think he'd do a great job.

Cooper has a track record with cast offs.........Walker has not done s*** EVER!

I'll stick up for DAllen and Greg Walker....Carlos Quentin says hello

Richard versus Sowers tomorrow.

Soft tossing lefty will have a guaranteed shutout, with no need for atrocious middle relievers of CLE to enter the game and louse things up.

Wow, AJ up to an 829 OPS. Didn't realize it was that high.

AJ's 829 says hello to Carlos' (no longer TCQ) 828 OPS.

There we go, nice swing by Fields. Him being 2-3 is bright spot of the game.
