I laughed my ass off. I think I was just in a goofy mood but Tracey Morgan makes me laugh even when he isnt telling a joke.

He certainly has that ability to make you laugh just by looking at him or anticipating something off the wall coming out of his mouth.

How in the hell did Maggie Gyllenhaal get an Oscar nom for her role in Crazy Heart? Talk about a forgettable performance. 2 years from now Jeff Bridges' performance will still be stuck in my mind as one of the best I've ever seen but I'll have to strain to name the love interest.

Okay...The Crazies was 10 times better than I thought it was going to be. Not just some rarrrrrrrgggghhhhh slasher zombie flick. Actually had a plot that isnt out of the realm of possibility.

On a side note, we went to the Muvicko theatre in Rosemont and it was not good. I bought premier tickets where you can sit in the nice love seats on the balcony with popcorn and valet parking included. They sat us in the wrong movie to begin with and they dont bring you your food to you as I expected they would. They are the most disorganized movie theatre I have ever been to. The restaurant, the ticketing, the concession lines all were nuts and they didnt know what the hell they were doing. Should have just gone to a regular movie theatre as we normally do.

I would bet some stones that avatar wins best picture. The oscars like to seem hip, hence crash winning best picture.

Crash blew hard. It doesn't even play on any of the movie channels ever, that's how bad it is.

Am I the only person alive that enjoyed Crash?

I thought it was good. The acting was abysmal, though.

Saw District 9 yesterday. Really good movie. I'm excited for a sequel.

I just thought it was pointless. Brokeback was infinitely better.

I liked it.

Racism exists, and it's BAD!

Hot Rod is a f***ing awesome movie, maybe because I have a friend who is just like Rod in real life (except for the stunts, but his personality is just like that). I really expected it to be a terrible movie (and I love the Lonely Island guys).

Nope, it was fantastic! Some will call me a naive goober for saying that, but screw em.

Replace racism with drugs and that's my exact feeling about Requiem for a Dream, which everyone also seems to love.

But Requiem was a great film. It wasn't just about drugs, it was about addiction which led the characters to a dream world, which led them to desperation & then reality smacking them in the face.

About Crash, the only people who I've heard say that they don't like it are the people who say things like "there's not way any of that still happens." (Not saying that you guys fall into that category. I'm just saying.)

I hated Requiem. The film was done really well, but I don't get enjoyment out of movies that make me feel like complete s***. I didn't leave that movie thinking "wow, that was a really good movie and I should never do drugs again." I left it thinking "man, I feel like complete s*** and want to kill myself."

Nope, Crash was a very good movie. A lot of people I know liked it.

Saw the Crazies on Saturday. Nothing groundbreaking, but a solid flick. Had some pretty good tense moments.

Crash was made to pat itself on the back.

I think that interperetation is why some people didn't like it. I personally thought that wasn't what the movie was about, it was just a plot device. And I liked the film a lot.

Kyyle, is that based on a book or is it original?

Im not sure. I think mostly based on L. Frank Baums work, its only going to be a short film but you get the feeling if it works then they are going to go with the Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion afterwards

Mackenzie Reiland from Whitestone told me:

“The idea came from reading the source material in Wonderful Wizard of Oz and realizing how powerful and relevant the myth of the Tinman really is. The myth speaks to a modern perspective on how we can lose our hearts in this world. “

When I asked Reiland if Whitestone plans to make additional short films on the stories behind the Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion he said:

“If there is interest, we would love to go after them. The other stories are equally potent and profound. L. Frank Baum knew what he was doing when he wrote Wizard of Oz. We’re just trying to live up to the excellence of his storytelling.”

It's just the whole "I lost the love of my life and now I am broken" has been done so many times that i am not that interested to be honest. If its a short film, I would probably check it out though.

But Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man that he didn't, didn't already have.

If you think about it, its kind of surprising that Hollywood didnt go after Oz earlier than this. There was the one(bad) sequel, the books and theatre production of Wicked, and thats it. Given the characters in Oz and the fantastic dreamworld that Oz is, its interesting that it hasnt been tried before.
