I certainly dont mean to turn this into a political fight. My apologies if it heads that way as a result of my post. it certainly wasnt meant to spark a partisan debate. I just found it interesting that the White House has to DEFEND bring the Olympics to America. I never thought I'd see a day when bringing the Olympics to America was a bad, evil, partisan thing.

This proves 1 thing.

NSS types faster than Lost.

haha.

Lost was sidetracked putting in a facebook status update that he was about to post a warning at soxtalk.

I really want to type "Stalin had the right idea with the purges, but they were horribly implemented, you just need to get rid of people that pollute society sometimes" but I can't bring myself to do it.

I'm not even sure Chicago will win. To be honest, I don't know what to think.

The Chicago organizers are pretty confident they are getting it.

The university where I work is supposed to host a couple of events if they get it and today there were people measuring for construction.

Man I hope we get it!

The process is so crazy. Its hard to say. I really, really hope we do, but reading about how the voting works, and some of the past votes... who knows.

How the voting works, in detail.

Friday at 11:30am Chicago time is the first announcement.

This is a great article for education of the process.

Also interesting was the poll saying that the Olympic bid has a 72% approval rating now.

If we win tomorrow I'ma run out in the streets of Brazil Chanting USA USA USA or...oooo essss ahhhh or whatever

Well if you suddenly stop posting, we know what happened :lolhitting

Anyone going to the rally in the Daley Center? Maybe they'll have an Oprah-style flash mob if we win.

And remember, hosting the Olympics is a small fraternity of cities. Chicago, like it or not, will always be considered an "Olympic City" which is an impressive feat (if not a mostly empty title).

Its possible. If anyone could figure out the corrupt IOC, its the corrupt Rich Daley.

:lolhitting  :crying

Don't be a hater from Indy

One day until we should be hearing. Wow. The process has gone quickly.

Really? seems quick to you?

I remember thinking last summer during the Olympics "October 2009? That's so far away!" Yeah, it really wasn't. Stupid time always going by faster.

Totally, the bid process has involved so much, it seems like it was just yesterday that Chicago won the right to lead the US bid.

I agree it's gone by pretty quickly. My youth is over. God, by the time 2016 comes around...i'll still be behind ss2k5 in posts by about 30,000, but my youth! My youth will be over!

When 2016 rolls around I'll be 33 :o

It seems like forever.

I'll be 29. Kill me

I love the city of Chicago and I love the Olympics.

Tomorrow could be a greater day that October 26, 2005.
