September 11, 200916 yr I doubt Peavy starts in Anaheim. You figure they would have to announce that fairly soon--like tomorrow. First game in Seattle would be my guess. I'm kind of liking the idea of having this rotation going the last three weeks. You never know what can happen.

You know, it's better to hope for the best, than to expect the worst. You asked why people boo certain players, it's because they don't settle and don't expect the worst. They want winning, even if the team is out of it. If you get complacent, you become like a Pirates fan and never care whether your team wins or not. Don't give up until the season's over. Your psyche would be healthier for it.

Because it will be exciting to watch Peavy pitch, and it gives us some hope in the off season, assuming he pitches well.

September 14, 200916 yr The mystery of Peavy? How is a 30ish year old guy with a Cy Young a mystery? Its not like he is coming off of a Tommy John or something. He had an ankle injury and was hit by a line drive.

September 14, 200916 yr Yeah, unless there's some legitimate worry of re-injury if he pitches (beyond the general "anything can happen" scenario), then it makes no sense to rest him for next year. He'll have time to rest after the season.
