Pretty good deal for Milwaukee. Even if Hart isn't this good over the next three years, having him at around $9 million per is pretty damn good.

These deals seem to work well for everyone involved.

 

Sure, Hart will probably lose a few million $ by not going to FA, but it does give him security for the rest of his life. And were he to get injured, this protects him. He can always go for the big bucks in 3 years when he hits FA and try to make the huge money.

 

I think if I was a pro baseball player, I would choose that route.

Hellickson looks pretty good so far. Has gotten a bit unlucky this inning with a blooper and a seeing-eye single.

 

And he just made Thome look pretty bad. This guy's got great control of all his pitches.

True. But man. Ellsbury, Cameron, Pedroia, Martinez, Beckett, Buchholz and now Youk are either currently on or spent a considerable amount of time on the DL. I actually think they might be the best team in baseball with a healthy roster.
