January 2, 201016 yr Author QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 1, 2010 -> 10:44 PM) Oh come on, that title isn't fair. Alright, alright.
January 5, 201016 yr Are Cubs interested in Ben Sheets? http://statestreetsports.wordpress.com/201...sted-in-sheets/
January 5, 201016 yr QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 02:01 AM) Are Cubs interested in Ben Sheets? http://statestreetsports.wordpress.com/201...sted-in-sheets/ I guess that's probably the best way I can imagine to replace Rich Harden.
January 5, 201016 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 08:09 AM) I guess that's probably the best way I can imagine to replace Rich Harden. Hendry: Your arm falls off after 5 too!? I'm in love.
January 6, 201016 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 09:09 AM) I guess that's probably the best way I can imagine to replace Rich Harden. But wait they got Carlos Silva. LOL
January 11, 201016 yr Greg Maddux has been hired to be an assistant to GM Jim Hendry. What that entails, I have no idea. Show up and talk pitching once in a while, I suppose.
January 12, 201016 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 11, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) Greg Maddux has been hired to be an assistant to GM Jim Hendry. What that entails, I have no idea. Show up and talk pitching once in a while, I suppose. He was on Chicago Tribune Live and mentioned that the job was going to be "far from a full-time gig". So yeah, you'd have to assume it'd be more of an emeritus position.
January 12, 201016 yr QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Jan 11, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) He was on Chicago Tribune Live and mentioned that the job was going to be "far from a full-time gig". So yeah, you'd have to assume it'd be more of an emeritus position. He was asked by Dave Caplin on WGN last night as to what he will do at his new job and it took him about 10 seconds of ummms and uhhhhhs to come up with his job description. If you cant tell someone what you job is within 3 seconds, it's not a real job.
January 12, 201016 yr Maddux loves golf, he spent a ton of time playing even on his off days during the season. This has to be 99% PR move, because I don't see him putting the clubs away long enough to take this seriously.
January 16, 201016 yr Soto lost 37 in the pounds in the offseason, and the Cubs are supposedly "ecstatic." http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...,0,124387.story I mean, why wouldn't they be? When a guy whose minor league power numbers suddenly spike and then dramatically plummet loses tons of weight, it can only be a good thing, right?

Well if you quit smoking pot then you dont retain 40 extra pounds.....I guess
January 16, 201016 yr Do the Cubs have even one good young major league level player? Randy Wells and Soto and maybe that's it? Soto only depending on a bounceback year
January 16, 201016 yr QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jan 16, 2010 -> 10:32 AM) Do the Cubs have even one good young major league level player? Randy Wells and Soto and maybe that's it? Soto only depending on a bounceback year And Wells avoiding a sophomore slump...
January 16, 201016 yr Author Sounds like Soto went to the Ivan Rodriguez school of weight loss (ie. off of the PEDs)
January 16, 201016 yr QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 16, 2010 -> 09:53 PM) Sounds like Soto went to the Ivan Rodriguez school of weight loss (ie. off of the PEDs) Just like he did before his ROY season. He's a joke.

I guess getting off the roids is something to be happy about?
January 18, 201016 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 16, 2010 -> 05:24 PM) Just like he did before his ROY season. He's a joke. I just hope they pay him a lot of money...
