In my opinion, most Oklahoma players are way overrated.

I have no earthly idea why they are projecting the Seahawks to draft a DE at number 6. The need to use their two first round picks on offensive players. A left tackle is definitely one of the two they will draft.

Yeah in McShays latest mock he has them taking Bryan Bulaga and CJ Spiller, which I think would be a pretty nice haul for them with those picks..

So the Bears need to go after every FA out there. Bagboy in the RedEye(who never makes sense) made sense today. To compete for the SB, Bears need:

Marshall and Dumerville are not unrestricted free agents, and there is zero chance the Bears can get either of them mainly because they have no 1st or 2nd round pick this year..

You would be right, however with the uncapped year coming up they will be restricted free agents instead of unrestricted..

Left OSU to help his sick mom, played in the AFL (youngest to play there) and CFL b/c he was too young for the NFL. Now eligible for the NFL draft, runs a 4.6 40-yard dash at 6'3", 275 lbs as a DE.

GREENWOOD, S.C. -- A toxicology report shows defensive end Gaines Adams had marijuana and alcohol in his system when he died. But Greenwood County Coroner Jim Coursey says nothing found in the report contributed to Adams' death.

 

The report showed Adams had a blood-alcohol level of 0.021 percent. That's well below the 0.08 percent at which South Carolina drivers are considered intoxicated.

 

The toxicology report was obtained by The Index-Journal of Greenwood through a Freedom of Information Act request and the results were published in Saturday's newspaper.

 

The 26-year-old former Clemson standout died Jan. 17 in Greenwood. An autopsy showed the cause of death to be a heart attack caused by an enlarged heart.

 

Coursey has repeatedly said nothing found in the toxicology report contributed to Adams' death.

Bears fire Player Personnel Director Bobby DePaul

ff-season changes for the Bears continued Monday as the team announced it has fired the front-office executive best known for engineering the trade for quarterback Jay Cutler.

 

Pro personnel director Bobby DePaul, who was in his ninth year in the position, was relieved of his duties and escorted out of Halas Hall.

 

DePaul played a major role in acquiring free-agents such as tackle John Tait and running back Thomas Jones as well as working behind the scenes last April to pull off the trade for Cutler with the Broncos. He is deeply connected around the league and well-respected for his ability to judge of talent and make a deal.

His relationship with general manager Jerry Angelo always was considered strong, even if it was known by insiders that DePaul and Lovie Smith didn't always see eye-to-eye.

 

Brash sometimes to a fault, DePaul came to the Bears in 2001 with Angelo after having served as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles' player personnel department for four years following an eight-year career as an NFL assistant coach.

 

DePaul entered the NFL in 1989, hired by former Bears defensive back Richie Petitbon as a member of Joe Gibbs' coaching staff at Washington, where he stayed until 1993 after winning an NFL championship with the Redskins' Super Bowl XXVI victory over Buffalo. The Bowie, Md., native then served on the Bengals coaching staff for three seasons before joining the Eagles as a scout.

 

It sounds pretty dumb to fire DePaul if he really was involved in getting good players to the Bears.

He was the one who also advised Pace, Omiyale, Shaffer, Manning Jr. etc.. Like any personel guy, he did have his faults.

I like Hub Arkush and he said the DePaul was one of the only guys that had any networking ability within the NFL in the Bears front office and was the only guy that could bail the team out.

 

Seems like another Bear debacle waiting to happen.
