I think you misunderstood by what he meant. Thome doesn't solve this offense sucking, but having him here is a hell of a lot better than having Kotsay.

I wouldn't say I was a fan. He's swinging for the fences, which is not what he does. When he was effective, he has a short swing and a quick bat with all the power being generated through bat speed. 2008 CQ would have hit that 1st pitch a mile, today he fouled it back. I'm not concerned about it yet though.
